Has anyone else downloaded this app?
Or use it for trails?
I've used it before to find staging areas.
Figured I'd try it out and download the app as it's free.

Looks to me that this only works if guys map their rides then upload it. So I'm guessing the two big downsides to that are 1, you'll get more people in your favorate area. And 2. For someone like me. Following a bad nap into an area you shouldn't be in.

For the guys that use this what do you plot your map with? Just on your phone? Or any GPS work for this?

I download trails off there and put them in my gps software. Pretty slick
I use backcountry navigator for android and use a 8 inch tablet.

That's a nice set up.
So I'd be able to down load the trail at home then use my phone with it as a map assuming I'm in a no service area?

Absolutely, cell service not required. Phone has a gps chip. You may have to download maps of the area to your phone previous to your trip. I downloaded a free map it was through the app, seems to work for my needs.

Yep. I use it too.

Downloaded bc and Alberta full maps for offline use.

I use it for the Birdseye view. I still have a Garmin as my phone is not reliable in the cold.

You don’t need to make you tracks public. You can choose not to share.

Rxn I think I have a Wikiloc track from Bell last year when we watched your group trying to trench that artic cat accross the entire meadow #1.

One thing i would like to add is if you are downloading from wikiloc to backcountry import the google file option (KML) The GPX doesnt seem to work for me but the KML version always does.
Ive never tried the Wikiloc app

i use it to store and share my maps as above i DL and put them in my gps if i need a map.. I don't use the app on my phone as a gps as the gps in a phone is not accurate enough. last time a gps app was used on a phone it put us on the wrong trail where my gps was showing the right location
