Unless you’re local consider it closed, people shouldn’t be vacationing. These small towns don’t have the health care capacity for out of towners to potentially bring the virus in.

I get the impression they don’t want you too lol

You’re correct. Lol. I wish everyone from all over could still come out and ride. The towns need the tourism dollars to survive.

However, it wouldn’t take much or many people to get sick for Golden, Revy, or Sicamous health care to be beyond capacity. I guess it’s the same reason why the premier of Ontario is even telling folks who have a second place in cottage country not to go out there.

That being said, I sold my house in CGY in October and moved out here and I still have AB plates. I’ve heard rumours of people with red plates having vehicles vandalized. Please don’t F’up mine... plates don’t necessarily indicate where you live. Lol.

He will have to when his alberta insurance runs out then they will ask when you moved to BC. I had a nightmare when I moved but didn't deal with my sled trailer for about 8 months. Had to get a neighbor to witness a letter saying they saw my trailer when I first arrived in BC

Im waiting on where the final destination is for work, then I will. No point changing everything over just to have to do an address change shortly after. $$$

So if he has an Alberta license and address no problem.

He said he sold his home in Alberta and moved to BC in October. That would certainly indicate lack of a legal Alberta address now. 30 days to change vehicle registration, 6 months to get a BC drivers license. After that, breaking the law.

Here is the thing, if nothing happens, all is quiet, nobody knows, no accidents, vehicle doesn't get stolen or damaged, no harm, no foul.

If something does happen to the vehicle, accident, theft, vandalism, any kind of claim or police report, now the sh*t can hit the fan. Very good chance the policy can be voided and you have no insurance. Its the risk you take. If he goes out and is in an accident, his fault, your family is in the other vehicle and are hurt, his insurance gets voided, where does that leave you?

Never underestimate the measures an insurance company will take to void or lessen a claim. Its their business, they are very good at it.

I understand that is a very small chance, but it is a chance.

Actually happened to my father a while back. He didn't bother changing it and was nearly a year later got pulled over. The cop went easy on him and gave him 24hrs to sort thing's out. He had to go to the cop shop to prove he had done the changes. He was told they could had pulled his license and had the car towed.

Fortunately my dad is an old fart and can be forgetful. He had to take his drivers test again though and I think that's good. He did ok and drives again.
