Just wondering if anyone has some GPX files of the riding areas in Sicamos, that they wouldn't mind sharing?

Heading there in February.

Or even if they have the "do not ride" ares that I can down load into my GPS.

Thanks

I've got the queest and Revy/shuswap one. Most of those names I'm unfamiliar with.

Which other ones for that area should I down load?
That should be good for the immediate Sicamous area.

Other areas to avoid would be too far below Blue Lake known as 911. Also don't drop below Morton Lake and don't drop below the lake that is underneath Video Bowl. If you stay out of those 3 areas that is where the bulk of guys get in trouble and call SAR.

Could you point out those areas on google maps?

Yes, if you don't mind, that would be helpful.

Found these two.

I'm guess the Southish side is the "don't drop down" side?

These maps are wrong on both accounts. North of Morton lake turns into a tight drainage. North of Blue Lake also turns into a tight drainage.

why do you have to stay out of that side of morton lake? is that caribou? looks like great riding lol

Brandon was just saying that is where guys can tend to call SAR for rescue. It is a drainage and IMHO looked at little iffy for the beginner/intermediate rider. One of those "I wonder why there are no tracks down there?". Further north and out of the drainage is sweet. Brandon, being a SAR volunteer will probably chime in and clarify.

Just don't follow the drainage off Morton towards Mara... others have tried....none have made it that I know of.

Off the north end of Morton lake goes I to cliff and water falls, been there 5 times on sar calls lol

Off the north and west side of blue lake ends into similar things, been there 2times and know of at least 4 more calls to there, even on slow bikes

Realistically if it goes down and you don't know where it goes, dont go down it

Pretty simple, and that's for any area

The sled club maps on sled sicamous has some posted don't go areas with GPS locations if I recall
