Great day up at Blue, big crew again, from Saskatchewan, Lawn Dart, Matt, Sean, Trevor, Billdozer and myself! We hit our usual secret spots but it appeared they weren't quite as secret as we thought, although only a few sleds had messed it up. But, enough that the set up snow and made for some pretty lumpy riding in and around trees. So, we hit the meadows on the other side of the bunny hill, up to Taryn's Bowl and Foggy Bowl, and no tracks! The snow was good where it wasn't so wind blown and we managed to get the youngens stuck everywhere, even on flat ground! Could be those short tracks????????? We had blue sky for a couple hours but then the light got really flat but we again found places to get stuck right near the cabin, while the other 7956 sleds on the hill were at the cabin!! Great ride boys, good thing for the long tracks to get up the hill to rescue you! Okay, so you helped the old guys as well, great to meet you all!
It was nice to see nothing has changed in the parking areas, a big jacked up 4 x 4 pulled in just when we were getting rigged up, the driver and female companion smoking a joint! Got outta the truck, finished smoking the fatty and hit the trails. Stoned when they got there and stoned on the trail, thanks very much morons!!

I'd like the record to show no pics of any Billdozer stucks or barrel rolls :beerchug:

Well, just because there's no pics don't mean it didn't happen! You've got the Turtle Roll maneuver mastered so its harder to get a pic of you now! And lets not forget that little incident where someone had to utilize their goggle bag for a emergency procedure, no pic required!!

I do have to be fair to all those got stuck and pics I took of them, Lawn Dart snapped this one if me when I was merely marking a tree so that others didn't hit it! When the youngens asked if I was gonna just go straight back down the hill (chuckling of course, as kids do!) or head up from there. I just said that any child could head downhill. With that said the 175" burnt a trench all the way up and over the hill, nuff said! Oh, and those sleds waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy down at the bottom sitting there, Billdozer, no wonder no stuck pics! 200125h.jpg

Just came down from Blue Lake, must have gotten warm here early this week, snow was ski loop deep at best and had a bit of a crust in some areas . Some nasty surface hoar developing, will have to be careful when the snow flys . Hopefully get a reload tonight !

Owl's today with some Flatlander friends. Lots of untracked in the trees all day long. The snow is set up great and climbs were awesome. Trees sure aren't as close as they were in the eastern Kootenays and it makes for great riding. Not a lot of stucks on the 154's and the boys did well. Sorry no pictures. Fresh groomed and just like the highway. Great job #sledsicamous

We did Queest, yesterday, just posting today so no lurker/poachers sneak into some areas before we do!! Is that wrong! Billdozer, Big O, myself and 4 LMD boys headed up the hill (John, Jeff, Roy and Josh, I think???). The first 3k was crap, apparently Telus destroyed the trail getting to their site, plowed the fricking thing! It was dirt and crispy snow which lead to all but one of the 7 Doo's going into overheat! That and Josh getting stuck at 2km trying to get off the trail to scoop some snow. We all had clumps of snow on the tunnel trying to cool stuff off, and after a half hour or so we were on the road again, everything cleared up around 5km and no further problems.

It was more of a tour for the boys, they haven't been here before so we tried to show then as many areas as we could, snow has really set up since our last time up here but they did find some deeper stuff in the heavier tree'd areas that us old coggers don't venture into! Vis was good for most of the day although that flat light came and went frequently, we covered allot of ground. They are going back there today, hence todays' posting, we went into an area where there wasn't a single track, so they're gonna make their way to a back area and play for the day, they're hooked on Sicamous! Pics wouldn't upload so I'll try later but not much to show, it was like having ants all over the hill and although I know there were lots of stucks and tree rustling, the youngens would always manage to get themselves out before Mr Kodak could even get close to them! Great day guys, nice to meet you all!!

Another great day up in Owl's today. Still lots (well, not as much as there was at the beginning of the day) of untracked in the trees. What a beautiful place to play and so many lines up through the trees and meadows that lead to more lines up through the trees!!

I will support another Doo commercial although it isn't my picture (forgot the phone in the truck this morning). Air drop is a great feature of Apple!

There are no secrets in life or at least not very many. A guy can't even go out in the back country without friends sneaking peeks on the SkiDoo cam............and then forwarding the darn things!!

Pouring rain from top to bottom at Eagles today , along with monsoon winds . Looks like a tornado went through the area. Trees down all over the trail .

No rain at Owl's but............with the warm weather and the rain that has fallen the snow has sunk appreciably. To the extent that the cut blocks are once again in the hazard zone. I found several of these (pic attached) today. We had a gropple storm and it was windy in the open. The grapple turned to fresh in some areas and after lunch we rode 6" or 15cm of fresh which was a pleasant surprise from the riding in the morning on a sort of crusty, stiff snow pack. Another day of exploring and tying things together. Heard today that the cabin that we found was the original park cabin (a sweet little gem). The ladies clinic had the cabin jam packed during lunch and there was standing room only. Deep in the trees was sweet once again as we were out of the wind and the visibility was decent.

! Few us rode eagles on Saturday thinking we would be able to find some deep powder . With the warm temps , very windy conditions and possibly some rain uptop arriving at the cabin was abit of a disappointment! A 1/2 layer of crust was present , the wind was out of control , a brief stop and headed into burn - crust layer was about 4 inches below a new layer of snow. As we got farther back toward hidden lake the snow starting to become more heavy and visibility was very poor , played in trees and made our way back to the cabin , made our way back out down a very soft and whooped out trail ! Starting raining at about 10k. Yesterday unloaded at owls to a very crusty / frozen parking lot. up we went to have some over heating issues. Made our way to about 19k and headed across to Blue , had snowed maybe 3/4 inches over night on top of a firm layer of crust ! Got back on trail at the Y going to blue for abit then headed cross country - kinda my old trail before road went across , as went got higher and farther of beaten path tracks and snow got bit better - but there was still a crust layer under fresh , made our way up through tress and came out in meadows west of the bunny hill. we then played our way west to the large meadows and down into lower ravens -snow was ok but defiantly not wht weve had in the past few weeks . Made over way back to the cabin - temps were bit colder there - stopped in to warm up abit and back down pretty decent trail ! Did get to drive the new doo here and there - wasn't able to see wht its can do in the deep but was fun to get out and dangle those skis ! lol
