Government BS!! Just have the natives stand near the building and everything will be okay.

Hopefully,MoFLNRO leaves the structure intact

Actually the trail management group was in application to make some trail repairs and improvements and then a new cabin showed up up top so they inquired who built it, there was no complaining or complaint filed. Anyone with half a brain knows there's no motorized access up there.

The reason the ministry is involved is because you can't build unauthorized structures on crown land and the primary builder has a history with that ministry. Put a peaked roof on the cabin and let this issue die.

This is intriguing. A shelter is rebuilt on the foundation of a ruined structure in a remote and strikingly beautiful spot. I would think that this type of effort would be welcomed by anyone who ventures up there particularly those who are hiking/climbing etc. Shelter is a precious thing in the back country particularly if the weather turns. Judging by the pictures, if you are riding something motorized up that trail you have a much higher risk threshold than I.

As far as dealing with any ministry, you need to get things in writing. If that is not possible, then the back up is creating a paper trail (or email) by writing to the person, or people you meet with confirming the substance of the conversation and the conclusion (if any) that was reached.

I hope this issue resolves itself by everyone (users and bureaucrats) realizing that there is no down side to anyone by leaving this structure there. Or is this a case of waiting to hear "the rest of the story?"

Problem is, they made the roof to hold up helicopter, and it's being seen as a ploy to take group's up with chopper and stay

Not saying that's the case, but as Brandon has said it's been talked about and the 2 head guys don't have the best rap with the minister

Anyone with half a brain knows that it doesent have to be legal to take motorized vehicles up there.
