Rode core this week. Was really good snow. Didn't see another sledder. Made our way to the back meadows. Days like that are why I own a mountain sled.

Cheers

Made er back into Core yesterday. 4-6" of powder on the crust. It was snowing pretty good when we left. Storm systems blew through all day. The trail is pretty wooped up. The grader made one swipe in the parking lot so it's still pretty messy.

Came up in another thread so I'll post it here as a heads up. They were checking for registration at Core Lodge this past Sunday so make sure you have your paperwork and plates with you. If you didn't have your registration they issued a $240 ticket which would be torn up if you provided them with proof of registration within two weeks. I also heard that they were checking out at Kakwa last weekend as well.

Went for a tour into Core yesterday. Up high is wind swept but it was snowing hard when we left and quite warm. The snow in the trees was pretty good but really flat light.

We went up into the valley north of Bertram Peak (coming from the north and east across Onion Lake) and well north of the Wapiti Provincial Park boundary on Sunday. First time into that area and not sure what its called. Great conditions up top - bumper deep dry powder with great drifts (up top) - with very good/fun conditions down and across Onion Lake and through the meadows dropping elevation. Cutblocks and road out to Wapiti crossing were still decent late season conditions - definitely want your scratchers down. It was a great ride.

I was out to Core on Saturday, snow in the parking lot was awesome, they were clearing the lot with a D9 cat. Snow up top was ok.
