You would have to drive around over 200km to get to this spot. We sledded on a groomed trail for 30k to get to this spot then traveled for 5km of plowed roads to get to the area we were going to. A few days later we went back there again and they were working and we gave them a call. They had no issue with us riding on the road. The regs are old and if you didn't have a VHF radio it would be a hazard. No issues if you call and get the OK.

I also thought it was illegal to ride a plowed FSR. It is isn't it? Just cause no one answered the radio call doesn't mean they are not working does it. What if your radio is nfg.

Hope Creek north of Pemberton. There is a cat skiing area that was giving the OK to have clients /staff sled on the plowed road. So it only illegal if you don't have permission. All sledders are created equal but some sledders are more equal than others.

Bull chit! Unless it's a private road it's illegal. Section 3(3). Best read 13(1) while you're at it. I'm really getting tired of having to post this.

So is driving 81 in a 80 zone. Don't know what point you are trying to make

The point is it's making us all look bad and pissing loggers off all over the province right now. Why don't you just go chase down some Caribou and put it all over Youtube while you're at it. Fawk some people are dense!

That's the point, If you ask permission from the loggers and they say yes why would they be pissed off.

This is like a few years ago when a buddy and I were dirt biking up a logging road. There was a logging show and we asked the boss man if we could ride through. He said no, so I said we had radios and he said we wouldn't have their channel. I asked what was the frequency and punched it in. We did a radio checked and he ask us to call on our way back out. Not only did he not have a problem with us riding through he ended up buy a dozen or so radios from me last year. This is totally different than riding in a caribou closure.

Totally irrelevant. It's illegal, and maybe more importantly reinforces the impression of most of the population that sledders are law breaking rednecks. Keep it up and there will be a push to start enforcing the law. Get slapped with the maximum penalty you might change your tune.

By the way....I assume you realize your liability insurance, if you have it, is void if you're running on a plowed road.

I dont know why this is an argument. If the logging contractor does not have a issue with sleds being in contact with them while travelling on the road, than who cares. Using a Beofeng radio without a license is illegal as well.

The loggers I have spoken with appreciate the efforts of us sledders who communicate with them while they are at work.
They don’t care if you have a radio license, just that you call out your positions and pull out when the tell you.
