Baofeng Radios privacy and setting frequncies.

Here is a little on privacy channels and how easy it is to program the frequency of another brand in this case bca into the radio if that channel is not programmed in already. We program our radios with all 1-22 of bca and the abcde channels but if someone wants say channel 15 sub channel 15 this is how you do it. when using a privacy code (squelch tone) ex 4-20 is that your group will not hear others transmitting on 4-16 but regardless the frequency is in use so your groups transmission as the other groups may be blocked if someone else is already transmitting. Other than the the light or sometimes it will show on the screen depending on your model you won’t know. It’s just easier to use a prime channel, preferably one without other users without a squelch code though you will hear all transmissions on that channel you will know if you are transmitting properly.
