Just wanted your thoughts on the kit for 2017 and 2018 sleds to provide extra cooling.

as Brian says here, I would personally do it on any 2017/18 summit or free ride, cheap and easy way to get cold air in there, you dont need the 2019 secondary to make it work, it will pull air in on 17/18 secondary , cheers dave

Did the first of two kits lastnight, worth it for nothing else than how much easier it is to get the cover on and off,

I found an interesting concept the other day. I have put the kit on our '18 (it didn't have belt issues and is still on the stock belt at 1800 km).

Rode 12 km climbing 2000' going about 25-30 kph on a single track trail. There was no new snow cover on the trail. Stopped at the top and felt the secondary clutch; the face on the outside was cool and the face on the inside was too hot to hold my hand on it.

So is this going to fix half the problem? Is it a combination of motor heat and belt heat?

Did you pull out all of the felt covers? It looks like they would hold heat in.

On the '18, all the felt/foam is gone. I used weather stripping under the vent against the side panel and had to use silicone to hold it down. On the '19, the foam is still on the side panels (right hand side to insulate the plastic for TheThing can and on the left side so that the cold air vent is sealed). All the rest on the '19 is gone.
