Hi Folks, hope you had a great summer and are ready for another sledding season.

The Lake is turning into a Fall Wonderland of gold and orange, if you could make it out to the Provincial park
and bring the family out for a picnic and walk the trails, play in the huge Kids area you will have a day to remember.

This Old Guy is ready to go for another season of grooming, so WHEN we get the snow there will be smooth trails.

See you on the trails
Don

Hi Folks
Well the summer over and my favorite time of the year is here. This also brings trail Pruning into play, I need your help again this year. The summer
winds have taken its toll on a few areas and it will require clearing
There is an area across the Lake that I would like to widen a bit so I can groom, it makes another avenue to ride to the big pipe line, if the county
moves gravel this year and blocks access to the main trail off the lake.
This has been a work and fun event over the years, so bring your atv and a saw and meet some new folks to
ride the area with.
Planned date is Saturday Oct. 21st 9:30am
PM me for more info

See you on the Trail
Don:)

Well Switch
I have been soooo wrong the last two years I
thought I would leave it alone this season.
But im on a couple of weeks off and I might
get up enough nerve to try it one more
time.

Well guys
I sit here at the Home stead in southern Ontario at 18 c and it's going to
25 c this afternoon. Hard to think about the cooool weather in the west
but over the next couple of weeks of golf, a few fresh corn feeds and
going to watch my pathic Tigers play ball I'll try and come up with
another BS weather prediction.
Stay warm y'all
:)

You have your thread back Don. Posters Don asked me to clean up his thread he started. He wants to keep it on topic of riding and snow and grooming conditions. I'm unsure of his weather/snow predictions but we will see.

Thanks

so, no discussing politics?

Nope guess not.
My bad.

Don I live real close to LL but rarely get there.
I have ridden your groomed trails a couple times with my children.
You do an excellent job.
With next to no help.

You are at least one level up on most.

My apologies for messin with your thread.
May you have copious amounts of snow to groom this winter.

Ok let the B.S. begin
Weather prediction is some what of an art, or is it fiction, I watch the Weather Channel and if they don't
have at least 50 percent wrong I'm a monkeys uncle, so that gives me lots of room for error ):

October will have an average temp of around 10 c now I know this weekend is going to be crappey but it will pick up
and get nice for a couple of weeks but coool down at Halloween-10 c

November is the Sh--ts cooold but a warming trend at the end of the month. Still - 10 to -20 for the month
and at least a foot of snow maybe 18 inches.

December is colder than November more snow and -25 at Christmas

January, is always easy, it's cold, a bit of snow and a really nice thaw at the end of the month.

February and March, not sure yet.

So, if you Believe this, and you should, prepare for one heck of a sledding winter here at the Lake.

See you on the trails
Don

Hi Folks
Well it's been pretty quiet on the post this season, the last couple of years with
lean snow conditions the talk goes to idle.
There has been more snow at the Lake this Fall than all last winter but no frost and it lasts about 5 minutes.
Big Temperature change coming, (as I predicted) so the frost we need will be here and a good start to winter.
White stuff in 20 days

See you on the trails

Hi Folks.
So my weather prediction continues to be perfect. (Just saying):)
The snow is definetly staying at -15 and we have
lots of ice on the Lake.
See you on the trails
Don

There are many, many miles of trails in the Long Lake region. The area easily connects with the Amisk Lake (to the north) area via pipeline and also with the Spruce Canyon/Whitemud/Hanmore Lake area (to the south). It is a huge area.

Roadtech takes it upon himself (with little-to-none outside funding other than his own pocket) to graciously groom some of the main trails on both sides of the Long Lake.

In terms of cabin rentals.....not sure....perhaps PM Roadtech on here for that info.
