:D The local St. Paul Trailblazer's Snowmobile Club in partnership with SSRA; Straightline Snowmobile Racing Association; will be hosting this years 'Western Canadian Championship's' right here; 1 mile south east of St. Paul, Alberta; on Saturday & Sunday, January 30, 31; 2016.
:D This event will bring western Canada's most well known snowmobile race teams to our community for two days of snow pounding, edge of your seat, snowmobile drag racing action.

I've never seen this before. What kind of sleds do they use for this? Got a link to any video of an actual race?

In regards to sleds that race; every kind of sleds; from 'Mod's to Stock to even Kids 120 Class'... I will post some pics from our previous races in the next few days; tks; Smiley :)

That's cool. So.. in regards to stock drag racing... and I'm assuming equivalent CC's in each race... what hmmmmm "techniques" would help one rider win, over another? I'd do this just for the fun of it.. but my sled is nothing special....

Thanks for the information. I'm learning ..... that I have a lot to learn :D

I'm not the guy to ask about "technique", but i can tell you i did give it try last year and the light plays a big part.
As far as classes you will be placed in a class of the same CC. You will need a tek vest and tether cord, you will also need to pass tech inspection.
I raced my 2013 pro 163 800cc, i was placed in the stock 800 amateur class. First time ever and got my a$$ handed to me. I didn't learn my lesson cause I'm doing it again this year.

The Western Finals of the SSRA Snowmobile Races are being held this weekend; January 30/31/2016 in St. Paul, Alberta...
