What's The Horsepower Rating On The 1000 Thundercat???

the big kitty came in at a whopping 69 hp and the torque IS NOT 188ft/lb either. That was taken off the output shaft NOT the crankshaft where every other brand gets there numbers from. If you think the kitty has more ponies then 69, check out the carb website ALL atvs have to give actually hp numbers there to sell in cali. emission regulations. The T-Cat is fast 4x4 quad until the 09 can-ams come out I am sure Can-am will be a bit faster, just the nature of the beast.

I agree with you Murminator but it boils down to a testosterone thing. My lawn mower isn't built for racing either but it didn't stop me from racing my nieghbour down the road with his one day after a few beers  :D ....its all good clean fun once and a while. For the guy's that can't make it through the big mud holes, they need some sort of bragging rights. :twocents:

That's awesome.
I've only raced my brute against a 400 ex (even race) but the brute sure can wheely. High gear sit back pin it and try not to end up rubber side up.

It's too bad this is about stock 4x4 atv's. I have 2 good friends who have Polaris Sportsmans that I am quite positive are the fastest 4x4's around. For those who are going to the ATV pulls in Lloyd on July 12th you will get a chance to see some crazy power. One is a turbo'd Sportsman 800 and the other is a turbo'd Sportsman 600. These are unlike anything I have ever seen (around here anyway).:)

Sure sounds like fun......ask aircan-am...aka Neil how his Outty stood up in the mud against 4 grizzlies and a BF 750...worst part was 2 of us were doubling. He has a nice machine good jam just the visclok was killing him all weekend **word of advice* don't burp of let off in the mud cause the visc lok disengages so 3 spin then the 4th kicks in by that time it too late. He is looking at some upgrades to get through the mud better to try and save his winch

I got my stock Polaris 300CC Hawkeye up to 90 mph once. Hardest part was getting it over the rail on the High Level Bridge. Stopping was easy when I hit the water in the North Saskatchewan. How's that for Testosterone?

fastest i ever got this pig going was 65mph i think..

with this clutch kit its like 55mph now maybe less bah it has like no top end now lol..

but get in a mud hole and it makes a-lot of other atv's look just plain obsolete and to be honest these things just don't handle well enough or are light enough to go any faster than i already am they aren't sport quads ya know even the renegades aren't sport quads really just keep that in mind the next time your whipping down a ditch at 70+mph you really could die easily lmao.

I had my stock 08 Renny up to 124KM/H on RR 25 before i had to slow down for the highway. And i had my parts guy check and as far as he can tell the clutching for the Outty and Renny are the same.
