still the visco lock thing. one wheel has to spin before it locks up. there is a newer version called a QE for quick engage, it's supposed to lock in less than half a rotation of the spinning wheel. but the maverick doesn't come with that one....bonehead move IMO

Yeah stupid of them not to put the QE and power steering on it, but the extra weight would have lost them the advertising wars...20 extra pounds would drop the power to weight ratio down below that of the XP, and it seems there are still one or two idiots out there who make their purchase decisions based on brochure specs.

haters gonna hate!!!! lol. ;-)... Im pretty sure just like the commander..... After a year or so we will see that thing designed more for the candian bush bangers.....its a dune machine... a race bred IMO...... No powersteering.... I think if you had a QE without powersteering it would be an ARM breaker to turn. Commander started off just like this. I DO think that the power steering could be an OPTION.. but I can tell you one thing for sure if guys are using it for racing and stuff you WOULDN'T want it as you get ZERO feedback from your wheels and you cant tell where they are.

the maverick has obviously been aimed square at the duner crowd, and they outnumber us bush bunnies by a huge margin. but you know as well as I that some of the bush/skeg crowd will spend what ever it takes to make the machine work where we like to ride. I think the visco is the best thing going if you're into mud and the like. always easy steering and when you want to rip and tear it's locked and spraying mud with all 4. a mav with the QE and PS will be fun as hell, especially for tight woods and mud.

Thanks was just asking for clarification, power steering is nice no matter what you say don't know the brp front ends but the qe sounds better to me too.

not true at all... all racers in gncc xc and worxs mx leagues...especially the pro's said that when power steering came out on the can-am's.. we will never switch.. not enought feedback to the driver...

BUT after they all tryed it out.. everyone was sold.. now, NO ONE in the pro classes runs without power steering.. Can-am's power steering is designed a bit different ..it actually gives you feed back to your bars.. i know,... i had a 07 gade and no power steering..had a precsion steering stabilizer on it too.. even makes steering a bit harder but day and night with a stabilizer... now you dont need a stabilizer.. the power steering has it sort of built in.. myself with PS and an anti-vibe rizer along with the flex bars that are rubber mounted, my steering is like no other.. its the best you can get in a quad with these mods.... and that is in agreement with all the top contenders.

leaving things off of a quad the first year like PS and QE Visco is marketing games... watch next year! ... if they built a quad or sxs as the best of the best with all the options, then there would be nothing left to put on them the next year to make them better... first year is cool, if your going to do mods anyways but if you want all the factory bells and whistles you have to wait for a year or two to get it...
brp knows people can't wait so they sell this model now and then when PS comes out in it, along with QE Visco, they will then trade them in for the new model..

its all planned.. left off on purpose....

oh also i put a QE visco in my 2007 renegade and i had no PS but i did have a stabilizer... i had no problems at all with steering or heavy steering.. put 4000k on it with the QE before it got stolen...

I would agree 100%mark.next year it will be available I would think. If it is on the rest of the commanders how come it is not on the pure sport ?remember the maverick has a longer wheelbase and room for 30 inch tires. So in fact it would benifit more from QE and P/S than the commanders.I would think the rear control arms will be beefed up as well,as they are bending on small jumps....
It's a Canam so it will be a great machine,I would bet....
