Hi Guys,

Have a trip planned a couple weeks from now in the Seeley Lake area. Looking at the weather forecast its looking pretty warm. Just wondering if anyone can let me know if they have any base up there that might still be around after this warm spell.

Thanks

Plenty of snow in the area, no powder.
You can use for snotel data. North Fork Joko is the snotel sight for Seeley area. The snotel is about 14 miles W NW of Seeley Lake.
National Weather Service This is an idea of the weather forecast for the mountains near the snotel sight.

Lindeys has good steaks, don't be turned off by their 3 item menu, it's good.

Parking area about 5 Miles N of town, follow the signs. Many many miles of trails, get a map from the gas station in town, they are like $4.00

not sure if the 83 is open all year around but if it is you can take it south east from kalispel for just under 100 miles according to google maps. otherwise you will have to shoot down the 93 to I90 east to 200 north/northest and finally turn left/northwest onto the bottom of the 83. That is a much longer route but might be the only option. Coming to Missoula myself to meet up with a friend to get him on a machine for the first time. From there we are taking the I90 onward section of the route.

Thanks for the info JJmyzrider. I called a rental shop in town and they indicated we could park there and jump onto the trail network right from town. This sound doable to you or is the trip out of town not really advisable.

HWY 83 is open year long in Montana
yeah you can ride right from town, most trails connect. I would NOT cross the lake, Seeley Lake, on a snowmobile. Warm temps and thin ice, 2 died crossing the lake back in Dec or Jan.
