Not in town yet. There is about 17" on the Black Bear cutoff and everything is freezing hard. More snow is in the forecast for seven days in the next two weeks. Yeah!

Thinking of getting a vacation rental for a week in either west yellowstone or Jackson hole . Can anyone recomend a good area. Rideing from the door would be great.

I've stayed in Island Park and in Cooke City before. Both are good. IP seems more relaxed and there is some flatland trail riding to get to different mountain areas. Cooke is pretty neat...park sled on hotel lawn, ride everywhere in town, 10 minutes you're up in the Alpine.

Barster,

A variety of options in West. You can pm me for details if needed. depending on group size this might work for you. cabinswestyellowstone.com

Lots of trailers in the Bucks Ridge parking lot yesterday. Early season testing or lots of extra money to burn on suspension parts? Either way, some buddies said it was a great ride earlier this week. 2-3 feet in spots, but still sketchy. Let it snow!

Was out yesterday on some groomers doing some clutching on the new fleet. Thin in a lot of areas, but a decent start in higher elevations. Heading out tomorrow for some backcountry conditions re con and more testing.... Will try to report later.

I was unable to make it up, but my guide and a buddy of the shops went and at first were disapointed, but then like a light switch at around 8500 feet there was snow. Dug a pit and found a few weak layers to be concerned with along with 4-4.5 feet of snow. Here are some pics taken with the phone camera and hopefully a few more pics after tomorrows ride.

Thanks for the post and pictures, I rode there a few years back had a great time. It was late season and the snow was set up, but some really good riding areas. The town was great people friendly and helpful. One of the guys in our group hit a tree and broke his brake handle, one of the locals that took us out said he may have a spear at his shop. Well that night as we were back at the hotel, Mark(I believe that was his name) walks in while we are eating and says your sleds fixed. We had no idea he was even out there or if he had the part or not. Next day we're back riding. Anyways here is a picture from our trip, Mark is in the Green jacket if you ever run into him say hi he's a great help and a great guy, and really knows the area.

Since the newer 1-2 feet of snow the past few days , the boys have been in the high country and the clients are coming back tired, sore, smiling and sleds full of powder! I would post a few pics of their rides, but our good friend and guide Clint had to park the horse after a day of powder riding only to head to Bozeman to watch his wife deliver two beautiful and healthy baby boys! Watch out West Yellowstone in 16 years..... Dad= 6'5" 320lbs, Mom= 6'2" ???lbs Looks like state championship's in 2025-2027!!!!!!

CONGRATS CLINT & HEATHER!

We'll try to update the snow pack and stability soon.

A few inches everyday since Monday.... Expecting a good one coming off the coast by Friday. Dumping good as I'm writing this report!!! Lets all hope for the big one. Friedrich's just got back from a five day rental and found good powder in all the usual locations. The boys have all been out the past three days and the clients have been pleasantly suprised with the conditions in the upper elevations. The Avalanches haven't slowed down much and there have been numurous reports of snowmobile and skier triggered slides. We have been finding a select amount of slopes that have a better stability than most but we have remained reluctant to venture onto them. Bottom line...Play it safe! Hope to have a few new pics from the boys, but the low clouds have hampered there visibility for a money shot.

P.S.
Have a lot of good discounts going for any available days at Cabins West Lodging along with our additional discounted rates at Hi Country for 2010 Summits.

Here are some of the pics I promised of some of the rides from this week since the new snow.... Still snowing and looking promising! All of the rides were in the northern areas, should have a few more after tommorrows run to glory land.

Mt Dream, I'm no pro with a camera, just having fun in the backcountry... what you have in mind for images!?

Sorry sled nation....been busy with work and a sick employee, so beer thirty has been reserved for me lately.... Got out Wednesday up into Gloryland and had a GREAT Powder ride, a little carnage and a lot of laughs! Dirty35 along with the crew from Rice, Townsend Mike, Shad, Carl, Troy, and all the boys from Ace...Thanks!

The boys got into Tepee yesterday and had a great Blue Bird day with reports of lots of good areas still untapped. Snow conditions are perfect for carving and boondocking, but the avi danger is still sketchy. The base has gotten much better and the recent snow fall is still a low density cold smoke.
Gearing to head up Red today. Should be good!

Here is a few shots from Wednesday... Too busy riding to take anymore.

Good day of sifting through the storms and powder with likkerpig and brother... found a sucker hole every now and then for a picture op. Reports from Cabin area was snow falling all day. Hopefully we get some much needed freshening. "They" say 8-10 up high by Tuesday!?

We didn't recieved a lot of snow out of this past storm that was supposed to be promising, mostly wind drifted snow so it was hard to tell how much we really recieved. The reports from up high are, getting pretty tracked up but good snow depth. Still areas that are fresh, but its time to start tapping into the hidden treasures or tree riding for the freshies. Clint and Mike are in Red today, so should get a good report in that area. Hopefully all the snow loaded in there from the lake. Took a run yesterday with the Fischer Crew and found some really good untapped areas. Here are a few of the pics from yesterdays ride. Great day, thanks Fish & crew!
