340hp MCX 174 Sidewinder clutching info

Your less than 2 hours from me. Looks like it is ripping. Did you get 19-20psi without having to add a boost controller? You should be close with weight, 162 or 174?

Remove the tcv valve and put the mbc in place of it. I like the hallman boost controllers the best. For 20psi, I run 50/50 av/pump gas at 6,000ft and higher. Pump fuel at 18psi Just installed a hurricane header and I need to add fuel to my mid range and wot, so that means more power. Feels like...

We have 4 of the mcx 340 kits in our group. I could not get any of them over 13psi of boost with the mapping/tuner studio software. I went back and forth with mcx on this. Erik sent me different tunes to try and all of them stayed at 13psi max. I gave up and installed a manual boost...

I put the Nytro secondary on 47 degree helix epi purple wrapped 2-3. Belt is running cooler and works great. Can’t tell a difference from the roller other than no slippage. Back shift is great. The button secondary solved my problems. Back to back pulling chutes yesterday in wet heavy powder.

I pulled the stock sidewinder clutch off and put on an apex clutch with dtya-2's. I have the secondary wound to 3-3 with the epi purple spring and still a bit of slippage. With the big track and big power it needs a tightly wound secondary. I'm going to try 6-1 next. I do think this roller...

Running the 8dn belt now. I'm actually running the quay70's with the large screw in them, not the dtya2's. I tried the stock secondary spring at 3-3 and clutches were even hotter. I'm back to the epi purple spring wound to 0-1. My next thing to try is the nytro button secondary. The...

I've always had the best luck with stock yamaha clutches. I will be trying out the nytro button secondary soon and will post the outcome.

Finally got a couple of decent days on the sidewinder. 2' of powder. I have the yamaha 35 degree helix with an epi purple spring at 0-1. Primary is fully loaded dtya-2 daltons. It pulls 8600-8700rpms. Backshift is quick and feels really good. I'm still running the 8jp belt and did blow...

What primary spring are you running Randy? I put a blue/white/blue from my apex clutch in to try. The stock sidewinder spring is sooo long...

It does have the lockout shock. I was guessing it would be a joke and not work very well. Sounds like it may work better than I was thinking. Thanks for the info!

I will be running 20psi to start with. It's just the stock skid with iceage rails and a cr coupler block. I have run the cr m10, baker skids, and kmod. Kmod is my favorite, keeps the sled light and playful and the nose down in the chutes.

Hey guys, I have a 340 MCX sidewinder with a 174x3 track. I have many different helix's and springs to try to get this thing dialed in. From what I have read most people are having best luck with the stock helix and a stiffer spring. I have an epi purple spring. For the primary I have the...

    MCX Stage 3

How are intake temps with those boost levels? I would think that a water to air I/C would be really beneficial over 15 psi on that turbo... Also how are belts holding up? I am looking at getting a stage 3 MCX kit too and happy to see a couple others that have done it.
