I talked to a dealer and they don't know much. the starter drive was listed separately in the parts fiche online but as said is included in the kit. 2 places different info

already have pull start probably just put it back together and use it til spring. Dealers do not seem to know much about parts,updates or issues

the e-start was factory installed. i found out that the starter drive the part that is not functioning must be on the motor attached to the magnito and the engine has to be removed to replace it.

the starter motor is engaging but the new start system does not have a bendix and the splinned starter shaft engages a gear system that turns a gear on the magneto. This gear system seems to be the issue but is not listed as available for this year. 2018 that I think is the same part is $700.00...
