I work for Revenue Canada....

Figures. Seems like it’s govt employees, unions or ones who also are indirectly paid by the govt are the ones pushing for people to stay home for months on end. You get a steady pay check. Unlike us 9 to 5 people or who have employees who can’t afford to take that much time off.

I’m going to borrow as much 0% free money as I can get my hands on. Then I’ll give out personal loans at 7%

Don’t group unions into this mix. Most unionized employees are private sector. And they’re getting hit just as hard, especially in Alberta.

McBride begs sledders to come spend money.
Has no real industry outside tourists coming.
It's not like they have 7 sawmills, 3 pulp mills, a dozen wineries, or such.
Now a few people have decided to complain about sledders coming to ride.
Business owners want the business.
If a few don't like it they should stay home. If they stayed home, they have no chance of human contact.
So instead of complaining...practice what you preach. And be damn thankful to the people who spend their hard earned money there, because the town needs it.
If you don't like seeing people outside, shut your drapes!

i agree.
This virus just isn’t going to magically evaporate after 14 days. This is going to be a problem until they come up with an effective cure. So IMO if a person is concerned about what happens if they carry it get sick from it then it’s simple. Stay home. Those of us that aren’t worried or are still working as they are an essential service, can continue to support the businesses that have remained open. Just remember to wash your hands, keep your distance, clean everything before and after you touch it, and go about your day. If you get ill then that’s when you stay home.

I’ll be honest I haven’t altered my routine much at all other than giving people a little more distance and packing the hand sanitizer with me with more frequent use.

Exactly right. ^^^^^

Not sure why they would be getting so close to the sledders anyway, stay back 20 feet and talk if you must talk to them.
And don't go over and hop on their sled and grab the handle bars you fools!

ok , I’m staying home , doing my 14 day quarantine, so far following the rules , so far . But serious question, , are you saying the McBride or Valemount hospitals are strained and incapable of handling an emergency , if per say one happened ?

NOt sure about those hospitals but I know the EK doctors posted on Facebook their concerns about covid and the influx of people. Our tiny Fernie hospital can't handle babies getting born. Just saying

valemount doesn't have a hospital and our is small and would not handle an outbreak. as of now no cases here and that is the way we would like to keep it.

your little community of Mcbride would be a safe haven as long as people would listen and stay away.

Doubt any of those small communities has a ventilator.
