Can't think of a cleaner, less germ ridden place to be, than up in the mountains riding. They should be encouraging people to go sledding in the hills. As for the grooming, I really don't care if they ever groom again. My sled has suspension, and I don't need to ride the trail at 130 kms/hr anyway. Even if i slow to 50 its maybe 40 minutes in to the really long ride in areas. The cabins in some areas I have peeked inside just to see what they look like, if there is hardly any other people around, but I generally don't stop at them. Just ride on by, and head back to the good snow and hills. I don't drive someplace, then ride up a hill, to stop at a boring cabin. I have never actually understood why they even build these cabins to be honest. If I wanted to sit indoors and socialize, I could just go to a pub or friend's house, and save the long drive to a riding area.

Cabins are emergency shelters. Nice to warm up up and dry your gloves out if needed for the trip out.

They are emergency/warmup shelters. Not a social gathering place.
In the middle of the night you would be happy they are there. I know I was this past winter.
