A few guys have been out, still bony though. Snowline is down lows so that a good sign.

Seen some photos of people up skiing at Brandywine, looked pretty good, but no word on what the access was like.

Heading back to Whistler on Sunday for the winter, hope this year is better than last and I can get out and ride in something other than soaked snow or ice.

First day out today. unloaded at 23K up the Hurley but with the new snow today 19K should be good now. Snow pen was mid thigh up at top of tree line. Watch out for small lakes and ponds, they are not frozen yet!

What is access and parking like with a trailer. 2 place open so not that big, but still need some room to turnaround unless I unhitched and hand spin it, which I don't want to have to do on a steep road.

Things are changing quickly. Might be able to park at the 5km lot today. Snowing hard right now with 12cm on the valley floor

Update on the Hurley? Thinking of heading up the way to today, have never been so figured sunny and clear is a good time to check things out.

To answer my own question. Parking at lower lot. Road is groomed to the Cat lodge. Hard packed lower down and thin, quite nice at the top, went up towards Noal, good snow up there, but still a lot of trees and not much room between them. Basically rode up and down a bunch of side roads etc just to see what the trails were like. Nice day though, and if some of the snow predicted for next week comes thru, it should be looking pretty good.

You drove all the way from Calgary to ride here? Hopefully the next dump will open up some more areas.

:d No, in Whistler for the winter to ski. Brought the sleds along for weekends to avoid the lines on the hill. Mostly will be going up Brandywine, but it is still a lot of open creeks, and I need more riding time before I can deal with that so figured I would get out and see what the other areas are like. Goal is more skiing than riding, but I need to do some riding first to get better at it. Ran into a couple of guys who were trying to find the way to Hope Creek, I understand that is right thru the Cat Ski operations yard? What is the trail like going up there? I have my brothers old AC Ext 580 as a backup sled, and since he is out visiting, he was riding that, Hope Creek doable on it?

Currently raining hard at the village, freezing levels are to high for the hill at the moment, will be snowing hard up in the alpine, but most of that isn't open yet. So you are going to have to go high for snow this weekend, might be an issue getting to it as the rain is going to do a number on the access as there wasn't a very good base down low,
