Public and Stakeholder Consultations


Status: Phase 3 consultations on the Draft South Saskatchewan Regional Plan are underway.


The Government of Alberta is looking for your feedback on the Draft South Saskatchewan Regional Plan (2013) for southern Alberta. From November 5 through November 28, public information sessions and stakeholder workshops will be hosted in 18 locations in southern Alberta and in Edmonton, Red Deer and Drumheller. Detailed information regarding dates and locations of the consultation sessions is offered below.

We ask that you RSVP for stakeholder workshops to ssrp@stantec.com or call 403-716-8325.Workshop times are from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Public sessions run from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and since they are open house sessions,there isn't any need to call ahead to reserve a seat.​
Whether you are able or unable to attend these sessions, provide your comments through an or print and complete the (2013). The completed paper version should be submitted to:

In order for your input to be used to inform the development of the South Saskatchewan Regional Plan, your submission of this workbook must be received, either by mail or online, by January 15, 2014.

Has anyone read the whole draft plan? I just cant do it. What are the concerns with this latest draft? What are the locals saying about it. Sledders happy? OHVers happy? Random Campers Happy??

well page 20-21 shows that they know how much we as sledders spend and surprising as it is they might see the benefits of the industry and might wish to support us in some small way in the future. Good to see positive instead of negative all the time

page 41 mentions off road use and restrictions of off highway vehicles confined to trails. Keep sharp, I think we may have a battle on our hands to keep areas open to sledders. Please take time to send in your comments and keep these areas open for you and fellow sledders.
