So I was talking with a friend yesterday that said one of his coworkers was complaining that he went up to Cadomin for the long weekend to find barracades. Unfortunately, that is about as much information as my friend was able to give me. Does anyone know what he may have been talking about?

...I am hoping that he mistook the washed out bridge for a closure.

A friend of mine heard the same thing, so I called the county office. The bridge that's washed out will be closed for the foreseeable future. The county will be asking people who camp on the East side of town next to the highway (county land, not crown) to move for safety reasons (he cited highway traffic and train traffic as the main concerns). As far as the CO knew (and the people in the office he was talking to) there are no other restrictions or closures. Still, one should phone in advance, it's a long way to travel to end up turning around.
I even asked about the Cadomin Mountain trail (starts at Mountain Park) the mining company was supposed to reopen last year, it's still closed as far as he knows.
