It's not that we can't, it's that we're too friggn'n lazy and apathetic. ...but sadly, you are probably right. The ridiculously pathetic turnout at the Mar 25 Edmonton rally was proof of that.

I know that I'm seriously going to reconsider who I ride with going forward.

is the meeting still a go for Sunday morning Dean?

Also I think we all need to look at our riding groups, and see their attitudes.... if they still believe "we can do whatever we want and nobody can stop us" are those the types of people we really want in our riding groups?

You bet, the meeting is still on. I'll be posting up reminders shortly.

True, the "You can't stop us" attitude does us no favors at all, but it's way more than that. There just aren't a lot of people willing to put in any amount of effort to preserve this past time, even if it's only a couple hours a year. That leaves those who do care spread too thin to be effective at accomplishing anything.

Re: Y2Y Founder & Shannon Phillips public meeting to discuss more trail closures..

I reposted this several times on her "official" facebook page and they were disappearing as quickly as I was putting them up.... guess what? now I can't post anymore, onto her page. My facebook page is fine ..... y'all need to copy and past this and repost it onto her "official facebook page wherever you Welcome
"Something seems very shady here Ms Phillips. If all your initiatives are above board, then why are Facebook posts of your recent brunch with Harvey Locke and his wife disappearing from Facebook pages? This appears to be more evidence that you are only interested serving Yellowstone to Yukon's questionable interests and ignoring those of Albertans. Misleading the public, deceiving consultation groups, and now censorship? Shame, shame Ms Phillips.

Please people, understand that environmental preservation is extremely important, but DO NOT trust Y2Y or its affiliates. They are extremists that have no concern for your welfare or the welfare of Alberta. The majority of the Eastern slopes are already protected, so ask yourself why they are so committed to spending tax payer money during these hard times to protect the remainder. Before supporting a movement to "protect" the entire length of the Rockies in Alberta, ask yourself if aggressive development in Castle Park will be better for the wildlife there than it would be in its current rustic, more natural state."

Welcome to the club. Surprised you lasted as long as you did. Well done.

Funny enough she actually just refused a call from y2y to have government intervention into a development and wildlife corridor issue in canmore. You can read it at rmoutlook. Com

I would copy and paste the entire post and the pictures, as when fb pulls my original thread there will be several others.
I also did some additional research as there was some questions.
When it was posted under the guys name on fb, i went to his profile. He had posts and stuff going back to 2015, You couldn't view them unless you were on his friends list. But you can see a general breakdown. Then I went to shannon Phillips fb site and low and behold she is wearing scarves in 80% of her photos.

And here is a a short video on Harvey Locke.
https://youtu.be/eAup0SQTE7s

Rumor i heard the ultimate plan for the Livingstone and upper oldman was a buffalo sanctuary, a federal park. If and when this happens there will be no notice. Just an announcement. Area closed. Sponsered by these yahoos in the video. Stress this was a rumor. Campfire gossip if you want to call it that, with a scientist who is not part of the environmental movement but is aware of the back room shenanigans.

Y2Y Founder & Shannon Phillips public meeting to discuss more trail closures..

One has to wonder if ( god forbid) we see a NDP government get elected in BC , how long it would take for them to close down sledding & quadding on their side of the Rockies ?

It is becoming quite obvious that the NDP will adapt the Y2Y plan & policy as fast as they able to ram it down our throats .. fortunately we have a leader who will reverse this mess in the not to distant future , once elected .

While the support by the sledding community has been lacklustre at best , due to the fact they mostly ride the mountains in BC . This will change I would think in a heartbeat, with a BC NDP government .
So I would suggest to do your best to stop that from happening, to not wind up in a situation like we have in Alberta right now !

Not to mention the fact they will destroy your province economically in a matter of months ...

Food for thought

Been sledding in BC every weekend for months now. The amount of NDP signs on people's lawns is scary. I Can't believe BC may go down this path

The problem in BC is the lower mainland & island has a chit load of support for them ... and that's real tough on the rest of the province .

Didn't British Columbia learn from their last go around with the New Deficit Party?

I suppose we will soon find out ...
on a side note , I did see that the leader of the NDP , confidently said that first day on the job he will cancel all current pipeline agreements ... so good luck to you folks in BC , should they make their way into power.

Pols all said NDP were gonna win in BC last time and they got trounced. Sure hope we can repeat that.

NDP power in BC seems to come back around close to the 20 year mark.
People seem to forget I guess.

1972 to 1975, and then again from 1991 to 2001,

You need to. All you have to do is look East to see the destruction the dippers can cause.
