I want to start a thread showing the good things we all do as a group.

Fixing trails , cabins and campsite areas.

Clean up days Etc.

Please post trail repairs and items you have done while in the backcountry to improve our activities.

Please no bashing of what people have done

Thanks

Awesome idea Arff as we can post-up trail maintinace programs each of us have on the go, then post a write-up with photos that go with the program.

The range my pal and I cover is Rocky Mt House and the here and there spots that need single lane crossings with removel of downed trees,,, might of opened access to well over 100 to 200 kms of trails this year. 7 to 10 bridge fixes.

She was tuff going today as I lasted about and hour on the "Over Top Mt Crossin" as I could of used 2 or 3 work good folks with good backs and keen minds. Ha...

Posting soon when I return to Wifi.

Pal Lem.

Lots. Maintain 2 snowmobile trail systems 1 up at Flatbush about 120 km of the TRANS CANDIA SNOWMOBILE TRAIL and now help maintain Cataract Creek snow vehicle for about 200 kms. In the summer on quads work with Snow and Mud putting the jamboree trail together and building bridges on about 70 km of OHV trail. Summer and winter working to make riding better in Alberta for all

Our group from Nordegg Alberta will never drive past beer cans or garbage. We have built a few bridges and fixed a few washouts. If everyone does this it will still take years to change the attitudes that most people have against ATV,s.

Cleaned up as much stuff as I could fit from abandoned campsites at tucker lake. Need a truck and trailer to get everything out there people are so disgusting. Some of its not even trash? There were 5 Coleman coolers that looked new other than being faded from the sun.

There is never a stitch of garbage left behind from our huge group, and we always pick up any trash we see, cut downed trees etc. One time I cleared a massive amount of trees at brazeau on low traffic trails, and never made it out there since haha, I'm sure someone enjoyed it though.

That is great.

Many times people clean up trails and camps and never return.

Great habit to leave it cleaner than when we arrived.

Thank You.

The g ood thing about working on trails is that it does make a difference. Small as they may be it all helps. Bridges are a good upgrade to any trail because that's where we do the most disturbance. Fish habitat, watershed management all big words for the future of our recreation to be around. We have proven that if a bridge over water is built the majority of users will use it. That's good plan

Realistically, we will never change everyone's view of OHV activities ...the best we can hope for is to be like any other like minded group .Simply to be respected and to respect other people's activities ,knowing full well that we have a VERY small minority that give us all a bad name ...

In other words , just like any other group of enthusiasts...!

We must come to terms with the fact that no matter what we say / do /ride / clean /volunteer..... There is a movement that wants ZERO motorized form of recreation!
For those that do right things out riding , I appreciate your efforts .... But let's not get into a situation that we can not win..we by enlarge have nothing to be ashamed of.
jmho....

We may not change everyone's views but we can do our best to sustain the sport and to keep our riding and camping areas open. It's not always going to be an easy battle but with the right people involved we can make a difference.
