FYI tyo those who have visited our cabin over the years, that due to an expiring lease agreement, and the inability to reach a new lease with the landowner, the River Rats have decided to move our cabin and all facilities for the 2015/2016 season and beyond. We have reached a new 20 yr lease with a new landowner and are setting up our new facilities. We will be installing some signage this season for our own members to become newly orientated as to how to find it as it has moved approx 7 miles to the SW.

Going forward this site will be a winter access cabin only as in the summer, it is a grazing livestock area. This should dramatically reduce the amounts of vandalism and theft we have endured over the recent years, including the people who help themselves to truckloads of firewood each fall. Over time the location of our cabin will become more widely known and the area once we develop it will actually be a more accessable and better site.

We would recommend that sledders who use the trails system that takes them past the old site to refrain from parking on the site of the old cabin. The road that leads from the river to the road is a government road, but the area to the east is private.

Please thank the new landlord when you see him. Without his generousity we would not have a new home for the club cabin.

Where is this Trail? And where is a staging area? Can you ride the ditches in Lamont?

The trials north of Lamont and ditches are rideable, but as always RAYOR (ride at your own risk) Some people stage at the curling club, others in Bruderheim and others at the Skaro Shrine. Once we get some actual snow, we will put up some signage this year towards the new cabin site.

The cabin is not accessible by ditch. The new site does not have an established trail yet. There will be adequate trail marking done once we get some decent snow.

Hey is the new cabin ok to use ? Anyone know where it is ?
The site of the old cabin is a bit of a mess . Looks like the old cabin was knocked down and left there? Or did someone dump a bunch of old lumber there?
