There was 8 sleds in the area we were at on Friday.
Our rider visits are waaay down this year at Forster. Last year we averaged 100 sleds a day on the weekends, this year it's been 25-30. Revenue for the club is down but lots more fresh tracks.
Guys just not paying for trail pass?

I heard a rumor yesterday that the logging up Coal Creek is not done. The snow pack is not chasing them so they are going to continue till it does. Not sure if its true or not.

Just talked to a customer that rode it day before yesterday. He said he won't be going back anytime soon. Said it is as rough as he has ever seen it and unless you know some honey holes its used up pretty good all the way to the notch.

Brings up the age old complaint from groomer operators and snowmobile clubs. If everyone just rode at a steady speed instead of brapping on groomed trails they would last 25 times longer than they do. I've road with guys who are on and off the throttle up the trail then when they get to the alpine they sit at the bottom of the hill and watch everyone hot rod around? :hmm:

Another thing most don't realize is just how difficult it is to groom in this warm weather. Sometimes it even becomes pointless, to the point of creating a mess rather improving the trail.

What's the temp like up top? Do they give temps on the FAR snow report?

Morrisey snow pillow station should have it if you can find it on the River Forecast Center website.

Edit: Found it.....sort of. US site. Gotta convert from Fahrenheit. I can't find chit on the crappy new River Forecast center page. Me thinks it was probably raining up there.

It was rain until 5300 ft, snow up top but it's sure changed from the fresh champagne we had. It's definitely getting heavier
