Just me and the moose! Sorry, no picture of the moose. Actually, there were 3 moose up there; a cow and a calf and then the bull tracks in this picture. First rides are always thrilling even if it is just up a logging road.

Well, made arrangements with another friend to come down and ride Doug, just a matter of setting of schedules and the snow conditions later this year.

why aren't you hooning up and down the street?

Snowplows round here are pretty vigilant so not much to ride but I could have gone up the powerlines I suppose.

But then I would have had to sweep off the diesel and start it and move it. Too much work just to scrub carbides lol.

This was taken today at 4300' in Elkford. Another hoar event and the snow pack at 4300 is all crystallized. I haven't been to elevation but I can't see much difference other than the depth of the snow pack. Still going to be a mess and when we get a dump, it is going to be treacherous, IMHO.

Thanks for the heads up Doug. Looking like slide conditions are not gonna be good anywhere for the next little while when we get some more snow. How's base turning your way?

I haven't been up yet Aaron but from what I have heard from buddies, there is no base and what there is at the bottom is all sugar. I'm maybe more patience than I should be but if all it is a road ride (even that is not pleasant going up to Koko with all the big rocks), I had one of those the first week in October.

From what I’ve seen up to 6000’ there won’t be any decent trail riding up Koko for awhile. There can’t be barely more than a foot or two up at elevation around here.

Crazy how dry it's been down that way. Hopefully it turns around soon!

It started snowing late yesterday afternoon, snowed alll night, and is still snowing now. Even with this warm weather the snow flakes are very small (I was introduced to these types of snowflakes as Rocky Mountain snow as there isn't the moisture in the snow flakes like further west) and our accumulation has only been about 12 cm.

There is a monster alert for the Ski Resort with 48 cm in the last 24 hours. I think this is a game changer. #snowisgettingdeeper
