10 cm of fresh overnight with some wind. Many places we rode yesterday were blown in this morning. Snow was better again today but there is still that facetted/crystallized layer that has no base and when the track gets that deep, it is a pita.

I did probe 195 cm deep in a creek. No the probe was not in the water!! Just a weird place on a small island in the creek.

Probed 130 cm in the quiet trees in the Rolling Hills today. Getting easy to get around with the big tracks as the snow is setting up nicely. We had a great day and rode untracked all day. Lots of stucks from riding on the edge and pushing the limits. On the third day the flatlanders were tired........

How many gallons of gas do you think you burn a winter?

I don't know. i've never kept track and never took the time to figure it out.
If I were to guess, let's say 20-25l per day at 60 days a season which would be 1200-1500l/season. 460-580 gallons. I average say 50 km/ride, so not a lot of long rides to get to the riding areas and I don't do any long WOT pulls.

The snow has settled nicely and the trees are sweet. Still the problem of the bottom facets/crystals/or whatever you call it. If one breaks through the good snow, one is down on the ground.

The Saskatchewan boys are looking at a little video footage.....it was a great day and the boys had a great time. Sure nice to know some secret spots where the snow is untracked and 120 cm deep.

This young fellow loved the G4 165 rental from Sidehill Rentals (250-430-7853) in Fernie. He is quite an athlete and performed very well on a 121" Nytro on the first day. The torque, power, and ride ability were a real eye opener for him.

I was out yesterday and had a blast. Saying that there is still lots of hidden stumps and such so we were took it easy. this area needs another storm or two before its get really good.the grooming is being done on a regular basis so the trail is perfect. Coal Creek is still shut down due to logging. When the logging ends our club will post it but when it ends coal creek road will still need to have snow on it as the logging company kept it plowed. I am going out on Saturday for the family ride up Morrisey

Great day today at the FSA BOB ARNOTT Memorial family ride. Lots of sledders and lots of club members. The smokies were very tasty. And it wasn't -28 like last year
