Man looks like it kept coming down after my ride with Ferniesnow last Wed. Hopefully it keeps snowing and the cold weather stays away for at least a couple days longer after this hitch so I can get another good ride in.

Sorry no pics from yesterday. Probed 280 (+-)cm in a wind protected area yesterday. People were stuck everywhere; uphill, downhill, and even following tracks.

The base is excellent and it was a run-out-of-gas-day for the aggressive rider. Some were out of gas at noon!

The freezing level was at the double switch back on the Coal Creek road today. The snow got deeper the higher we went and at the Rolling Hills cabin there was 20 cm of fresh. We rode trackless snow all day today. Areas that we trashed on Saturday were pristine today and it was great. Lots of trees blown down and some tops were broken off and sitting on the snow below. The top of Leach Ridge was very wind blown and the fire guard was full of wind blown snow. It was a great day and the sun even blessed us a few times.

Just a FYI, the slide on the Coal Creek road was down. The debris stopped just before the road. The "once in a hundred years slide" has now slid twice in 3 years. It was common sense that once the slide path was opened up, it would have a tendency to slide more often. That is the one slide path that had the Avalanche Assessor concerned for the safety of the groomer operator and rightfully so. It was pointed out that they could groom to the slide path but not through it. So with the slide down now, an assessment will be made and it is quite possible that the bumps on the initial part of the Coal Creek road can be groomed again.

Ya hopefully they can groom the first few Kms now. Wow it was rough. The rest of the trail up was excellent. Had lots of good snow today with no other tracks to be seen. Rode in a few different spots today. Thanks fernie snow for the directions on where to ride.

Anyone riding tomorrow? I'd like to get out again and see some more of the area.

Three of us will be riding from Corbin town site or the Tin Shack (Pipe Line). If you have av gear and know how to use it and like riding trees shoot me a PM.

Cheers
