Sled repair in Fernie. Christmas eve??

We are here for the holidays and had a little clearance issue at the red tree Lodge with the sled deck. Long day of driving makes for a dumb decision! Damages aren't bad...

- brake line severed
- brake fluid gone
- handlebars bent
- broken kill switch

The main thing I need fixed is the brake. The other stuff I can make do until we get home. Is there a place in Fernie or close that could repair this on Christmas Eve?

Hoping some local boys like @ferniesnow can chime in here and help me out.

Thanks for the reply!
Yes I have a tether. I think I can just unplug the kill switch in this case?

Bars are rideable they just need some adjustment to get back to center.

Do you know which brake fluid they run? And does cdn tire sell parts to reattach the brake line? I am not opposed to doing it myself if I can get parts but tools are another story for the brakes.

Any dot 3 brake fluid is fine. As per the line I guess it would depend on the condition. Maybe something at can tire to stop the leak? You should be able to unplug the kill switch or just get it in the up position with pliers and leave it up

Awesome thanks. No the brake line is broken right where it goes into the fitting that bolts to the brake lever, if that makes sense?

Also, that's just a hydraulic hose.
Someone in Sparwood would be able to make you up something.

I left a voice mail with ghost riders and Stephenson. Hopefully someone gets back to me because I don't have flaring tools or anything like that to fix it

Good luck and hope it works out. Worst case you might have to rent a sled from ghostriders. Keep us posted.

Like Throttle ops said too, Brent at arctic edge is probably around too. He might be your best bet

This guy has a pretty good name as an auto repair shop.
I wonder if Decker could rig something up?

Curious, did you do much damage at the red tree lodge?

I have a brake reservoir but not the cable. The other posts above have pretty much described the resources in Fernie. CT my have something to work for the brake line. It would be worth a shot. Good luck and I hope you have a Merry Christmas even with the present problems.

Great to hear! My place is not far from there and if I was still in town I would tell you to come over for a beer but I'm back in Lethbridge for Christmas for a few days.

I have a flaring tool in shop and going to Calgary tomorrow as I can go through fernie way instead of radium way, let me know as I will be leaving Kimberley about 9ish am. Or text me at 780-243-3348 if you want me to bring to you. I'll check in am. Good luck

Thanks for the offer! But I'm going to look at getting a brake line made. Maybe even auto repair as was eluded to above...
