It's not all about the hourly rate....its operator competence. As far as consistency, depends on ground conditions. Sandy soil,no you can not but in normal clay conditions we can cut steps, ledges etc. we have cut 8 steps out of a confined space trench in the right soil conditions. the equipment is the minor component. Operator is key.
