Fricken trains in Northern Ont going east and west going crazy ! I am a locomotive Engineer and some one is into traffic ! Grain/potash/Oil/Autos/Zinc/Container etc. ! If you guys/girls are saying ression then who/why is the traffic picked up ? Cn has called back a lot of railroaders. We see it first and last as a cheap way to ship. Might take a while due to ripple effect but we are moving traffic. Don

Stuff might be moving in some sectors, but cost added on too this and that still keep the odd person wize.

Example:
Food costs on average are up 12 too 33% in some areas, auto parts are 50 ish % higher here in Canada too USA,,, electronic goods are fairly close "give or take."

Housing costs are still high, plus the water, sewer, garage on top of property tax is threw the roof as it will increase even more by 2018/19.

2 companies I know of have found ways to save 10 to 12% in savings on large purchase that works out to multi millions for other saving ideas.

Hard too think that a buck or 2 adds up this way, but over 1 or 10 years it make or break over others in the same industry.

We as general public could think of this our selves too find what works for us, friends and family.

Been frugal all our lives, and its allowed for a fantastic life time of adventures and travel.

Lem at getting the best bang out of our bucks

I think it's safe to say the days of a few natives stopping multi million $ projects in the USA are over....

80 rigs in Canada and 1100 in the USA. Breakup for sure but not many predicting much of an improvement until later in the year.

Stupidly busy, and cannot find decent guys. Only complaint is rates are still low and the insane diesel prices aren't helping, get the odd job where can get ok rates, but many people still wanting stuff for cheap. But as i'm booking further and further out, not budging as much and letting more stuff go if they won't pay what I want.

Know of one guy who is closing his business selling his equipment to go back to the rigs. Partly lack of work, but partly sick of dealing with the public who has no idea what they are doing.

Sounds like a positive job change..... must like time off.

It's busy out here in the sticks, every carpenter I know is booking house builds into next summer.

The smart oil patch guys are spending the cash they made over the last 15 years on retirement properties.
