Just to update for those of you who had been following my adventures in service. At the last post, the dealership in question had re-ordered my part, and said they would phone when it was in (that was Friday morning, said it should be here by Wed-Thur). I finally phoned on Saturday to see if it was in, and sure enough it was. Ironically funny, when I went in to say that I was here to pick up a part I had ordered, they said in an unservice-like voice: "Did you get a phone call?" HA "No", I said. "I had to phone MYSELF to see if it was in." Anyway

And like I posted, I followed the advice of some of the members on the site here and tried to contact the owner of said business (for fear of being moderated, I am not allowed to say, but I got a new GECKO and his name is MICHAEL). I left a message that I was having problems with the service, and wanted him to phone me back to discuss. No phone call, and I am not going to go chasing business owners to try and get good service. That all being said, they have seen my last dollar spent there.

On to a new and positive experience: I had the misfortune of my truck crapping out on me on my way to work (Zama) on Monday. I had stopped in Whitecourt to fuel up, and when I returned to my truck, it wouldn't start. With the help of a certain Petro-Canada Certiguard centre who happens to advertise on this site, we were able to diagnose the problem. I had to get it towed (yes, I humbley admit I had a slight problem with my dodge) to the dealership in Whitecourt (EAGLE RIVER CHRYSLER). I told them I think I had an injector problem, and they said they had 2 other 07 3500's ahead of mine with the same problem. That being said, the ladies at the service counter said that they thought they might be able to get it in to have a look at it on Wednesday or Thursday, and hopefully fix it Thursday or Friday. I expressed my situation that I needed to be at work for Tuesday, and she said she would see what she could do. To make a long story slightly shorter, they got it in on Monday afternoon, and she had called Tuesday BY 3:00 PM to say that they had replaced 6 injectors, and that it was ready to go.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!! That is what excellent service is all about. I really appreciate the SERVICE of EAGLE RIVER CHRYSLER (I hope you guys don't have to **** out there name here). I am on my way to pick it up for tomorrow morning, and will have to bring the girls at the service desk a box of donuts.

Most of the time if you have very ggod service you tell only a few if you have a bad experience you tell many. We have to start telling more about good service. What if more people start going where they heard of good service and then service started to get bad because they are to busy. Then what?

Then smart business owners will realize the value of service, and expand to meet the needs of his/her growing client base. I think that every successful businessman knows what the market demands are. When he starts off, he starts off small, and like I say, as he grows, so should his business. If he is unable to continue to meet the needs of the market, then the business will suffer.

I also think that successful businessmen know that they need to have the right people to do the right job. As the needs of the business changes, maybe the personnel need to as well or more of the right people.

Well like I said, I made an attempt to discuss the situation with the owner, with no results. I'm not expecting to get my stuff for free, I just want good service. I live in Camrose, and there are members on here that can attest to the fact that I will drive 1 1/2 hrs to go for good service.
