Remember this change as well. October 1 2020

Alberta’s Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Branch is now operating under the Alberta Sheriffs. As of October 1st, their members will be called Alberta Sheriffs – Conservation Services.

Glad you leave every site in better shape than you found it.... but lots don't and that's a BIG issue
Give this man a cigar - nailed it buddy. Now there will be more COs with a valid excuse to roll up on my campsite and check for papers, and while they’re there try for any and all BS tickets. And believe me, our crew leaves every site in better shape than we find it in.

Well,

They had better include "Exemptions for Section 35 Rights"....
Or there will be a blockade and "No-One" will be allowed to use any lands till it is settled in court...

That could take years. LOL. Bwhaa.

Look how it effects pipelines alone.

My Bad. I have to edit.....
I just read the proposed Bill and it is included. "Free" for them.

I am now self identifying as a Gay, Female, Cross Dresser and Metis.

I an now free to camp at no charge.

Dsamn, that was easy.

Nah they are called Indians too. That's not racist either. I'm friends with lots of natives, indians what ever you want to call them.

Hell a couple I know go by the nick name "cheif"
Not everyone is super sensitive about old words.

But yeah they dont have to pay.

30$ per person over the age is a bit ridiculous, but then again seeing some of the clowns out and about and the mess they left was quite extensive cost wise to clean it up would be 10x the 6 that left the mess in the first place. But they should have a family pass available as you can buy a park pass for the year and not everyone in my vehicle has to have a that said pass just me. Family pass should include up to 4 people over the age of 18, but not 10 as i seen packed in a minivan last year trying to go into crystal falls when it said the lot was full that was ridiculous and just about caused a big highway pile up.

As I read through this thread I have to wonder how many of the posters Whining about an ANNUAL fee of $30 is excessive and yet think nothing of spending $30 for a DAY pass to go sledding. Too funny.

Yes. 30.00 is nothing. Look at the price of a belt for a sled /quad / sxs

When I pay the 30$ to the snowmobile club I get a smooth trail and its convenient because there is a friendly person waiting there to sell me a pass.

For this I have to go.out of my way to pay thr government or sign up.for some app that I dont want on my phone and I already pay those clowns thousands of $ every week and I doubt my service will be any better than it is now....

Unfortunately because of the few idiots that leave a mess and destroy sites the rest of us who respect the backcountry will suffer. It's either pay a fee and hope it goes back to enforcement and cleanup.
The worst case is the government shuts down all random camping.

If this fee is properly managed and goes towards what they "say" it's going to I think its fantastic. Area's like 'South fork' in Rocky Mountain House area, or 'Big Horn Dam' near Nordegg can really use some trash receptacles, and even a few outhouses out there would go a long ways.

More importantly though is definitely enforcement upon those that make giant disasters, and leave them behind.

I agree, but trash cans are not a solution. They are more of a problem since there is no way they can be monitored with frequency they need to be in order to keep them wildlife safe. I see it all the time at the resort, some joker will fill a small bear proof bin which is intended for small items like coffee cups, wrappers etc up with 2 large bags of garbage and then the next person will just drop theirs on the ground instead of looking for another one or using the actual dumpster for large bags of garbage.

Valid points, and I've seen this at Provincial Parks here as well......

Why not leave those of us that respect our crown lands in good condition alone and go after those that are causing the issues...

If your crown land camp site is a mess,,, you get charged a heft fine...

Funny that Jason Nixon said that our crown lands will remain free for all user groups,,, and now he's proposing a money grab...

That's not right since the majority of funds collected from ohv registration is supposed too cover these costs...

$50 per ohv X's 200.000 unit's = $10 million each year,,, and 1 too 2% go into trail repair
, literature and education,,, the majority of this cash ends up in general government revenue and big pension for our Alberta politicians...

Don't kid your self,,, these folks get hefty 5 digit pensions when they retire ... its all about take take take...

Its starting off at $30 per person and will double in costs over the next 4 years...

I know 1 thing,,, I'm not buying in on it come next election,,, Jason Kenny and Jason Nixon are screwing us around ,,, i bet 10 too 1 that their toast on the next election...

I hope Im wrong,,, but they are a complete disappointment ,,, and no better then the clowns we voted out last round...

Why would they set them selves up too fail is beyond us,,, family and friends,,, guess they think we are fools for following along with this bs... Like really...

Promise us 1 thing ,,, then turn around and screw us law biding folks that look after our crown lands...

Their a bunch of clowns if they think im going too pay for free crown land camping...

Just a bunch of donkeys...

Jason Nixon should know better then this,,, throw in a unpopular bill for all the folks in his riding and all of us in Alberta and other's that respect our crown lands that pay our way in lots of taxes collected in the recreation hobby,,, and now stick it too us again at the worst of times when 82 too 87% of us are already living on ends meat. ..

Thanks alot you guys,,, thanks alot for sticking it too us once again...

Very disappointed indeed,,, and too our elders that are living on low fixed income...

I hope they feel like heros when we punt their @zz's too the curve...

I sick of all of them,,, bunch of out of touch clowns...

Jt

Jason Nixon was the guy that saved our back country use after Notley and her evil henchwoman tried to shut everything down. I don't think he will be going anywhere anytime soon. He is well liked by recreational enthusiasts in this province
