The Ryan Jespersen has Show has been cancelled. Just head this from my mom, she seen it in the Edmonton sun, it was announced on Saturday that Ryan Jesperson wound no longer be working for CHED. I'm a regular listener to his show and snowandmud and Garrett from AOHV has been on several times. I always kept in contact with Ryan as he supported us on his show and ran into him at many oilers games. Article in the sun headlined " Changes Echo Sounds of 2020" , I guess you say one thing that creates tension your out these days. Crazy days ahead, enjoyed his show. Time to change my daily radio channel in support for Ryan.

Just read the story on Facebook actually Ron. Terrible deal. In no way do I believe that he was implying a racist remark but more just making a joke about how inept city council was. This unfortunately is todays environment we live in. The woke left is laying in the weeds looking for the right to make one mistake that they percieve can be taken multiple ways and jump on them. What is it going to take for normalcy to reign again??

They are saying in the story I read there will be a push for the Oilers to let him go. The NHL is politically woke now. I gave up on them as well as the other stick and ball sports. More time for snow and mud. Lol

I hadn't listened much for a while,but the last few times I did I also thought he was leaning quite a bit to the left. But what media in this country isn't?

I enjoy talk radio when I am on the road and found I could not stand Jespo and his very left wing view of things over the last couple years. He was okay for a long time and sat very much in the center which was refreshing but over time he became further and further left leaning, praising the NDP whenever he could and denouncing the UCP.

I am one that can respect others political views and understand that there are many different types of people out there. I just don’t need to listen to it when the conversation goes from rational and open to a you are wrong and I am right kind of talk.

Now, with that being said, I completely disagree with what he was cancelled over. The context in which he said what he did was not being racial at all and anyone deciding to take it that way has different motivation. This cancel culture is getting absolutely ridiculous and needs to stop.

I listened to him a lot, didn't mind the radio show, couldn't stand him as the oilers cheerleader. As stated previous it seems he had begun to lean more left but I'm not sure that is actually the case, I think the right just became much more difficult to support. The UCP has made some horrific blunders both fundamentally and optically. I'm not a fan of Kenney and although he speaks as if he is trying to right the ship I find he is better at alienating the left than he is at actually doing anything productive. I believe Jespersen is still a centrist it has just become harder and harder to find anyone in politics who is. I always found he was fair to his guests on both sides of the spectrum doling out airtime and criticism equally. I also liked Andrew Goss on the afternoon show but don't listen anymore since he left. Danielle Smith is a much better radio host than she was a politician and I wish she had been able to maintain her current beliefs and talking points when she was in politics. I've come to believe that the issue with our politics is more about the system than the people, once someone enters the political arena they become stupid....

If Danielle takes over his slot with a true province wide talk show on QR and CHED I think you guys will find you really like her. I enjoy her show everytime I get a chance to listen.

I have stumbled into Jespo a few times over the years. Always remembers me and shoots the ****. funny guy, who cares about the political side...
