Need a bigger bar! Was a little nerve-racking dropping this monster today. 42" across the base. pretty high consequences if it went the wrong way so had backup lines attached to a couple tractors. Got her over in the right spot with my wedges though. Pretty fun!

Unless your only cutting small stuff I think 16" would be too short.

I call bull shiat on 2 cords out of 1 pine, I cut 25-30 cords a year all pine and some of it my 28” bar won’t go through, biggest one I got was one tree filled my truck with rails and that’s a cord and a half. One pine 2 cords musta been a 32” butt and 100’ tall with a slight taper

Two cords out of one tree is tough, especially with all the waste after cutting it up.

maybe their cords are only 3x3x6 we just finished cutting 4 cords and it took more than 2 trees just ask the wife

Buddy had a 36" bar sitting in his garage he gave me. Just had to change the tip and get a chain made. SO much nicer on big trees.

They are a great little saw. Had mine for five years and it’s been dead reliable. Light and easy to carry on the quad as well.

I bought the greenworks 80v, i would say it is equivalent to a 45cc saw. I cut down an 80 foot tree, limbed and bucked it used 1/3 of the battery. 44 blocks about 10" average just under 2 feet long.

Ms260. 20" bar. Have owned it for over 10 years Never had even a burp. Great saw IMO. I bought a MS250 2 years ago. Not even close to the MS260. i usually get 10 loads of firewood for my house and 2-4 loads for our campsite. I use Stihl oil with premium gas.

IIRC it was 34" at the base, I'm not sure on the height, but it was by far the biggest pine I have ever cut. I was halfway up the trunk before my 20" bar would cut through from only one side, the lower half of the trunk required cutting from both sides. We use a 12'x8' trailer with 18" sides, and when loaded just over the rails it holds 1.25 cords, it took 2 full loads to get that tree out. I tried counting the rings at the base to see how old it was, I quit at 140.

and that is only half a load.............................and a skinny half at that!!

Can't resist buddy.....................get a real truck and fill it up! None of this short box, half full kind of stuff!! But I'm guessing that's what Toyota guys have to do...................

I got a 180 it’s the same motor as a 170 just a narrower chain and different pull start. It’s a great saw. Had my close to 10years. It stays in my sxs year round never gets covered only in mud. I wash it with the pressure washer. And runs awesome.

Can't afford a as you call it a REAL TRUCK. My puny pension can only let afford the Tundra. So I guess I will have to continue to get half loads.

Without reading the thread,

I was really impressed with Jonsered when they started coming w/boost.

I would boil the gas cutting dry firewood for hire. White Swan Prov Park. Boss takes a saw to the saw shop and got it back w/a 4" paper filter, chrome cap, WTF lol

Killed it too, I would switch saws when it leaned out. Then he gave me a Jonsered turbo, Oregon 24" bar 3/8 skip tooth.

Could not kill, Jonsered gets my vote because of that.

I believe you. I dropped a 36" larch this winter that would have been WELL over 2 cords. Took every mm of my 36" bar to drop it, and it didn't taper much for at least 30-40'. From there on my 24" bar was buried and more until at least 3/4 up the tree. Thing was an absolute monster.

Worst part was it was rotten about 3/4 of the way up. Still pulled almost a cord off the top before I hit the rotten stuff

Best firewood well cept birch. was it an old dead one ? Kimberley had lots.
