Guess I should let those that don't already know, the flames 50/50 is selling online (just like the Oilers 50/50). I would never hype up the Flames for anything, but its for a good cause, and the take home prize isn't too bad.

There last few draws have been ok, not Oilers epic (yet), but better than at the rink.
Today's (Aug 13) draw is at $96,485 (as I write this).
Previous draws below.

Aug. 6, 2020 C-10752318 $1,790,815.00 $895,407.50 Yes <<<<<< not to shabby.
Aug. 4, 2020 D-10080106 $297,570.00 $148,785.00 Yes
Aug. 3, 2020 D-10017855 $98,485.00 $49,242.50 Yes
Aug. 1, 2020 C-10040494 $153,980.00 $76,990.00 Yes
July 28, 2020 C-10015874 $73,880.00 $36,940.00 Yes

Maybe that's why there is a big teardrop right in the middle of their logo ?

lol.....Hey, Watch It!!!

That oil drop part of the logo goes back almost 50 years to early 70's when the WHA was formed and the two Alberta Teams "the Edmonton Oilers" and the Calgary Bronco's" were formed. A lot of history there. That oil drop was strategically designed to represent the oil derricks of Alberta....an intricate part of Alberta's history and still an important industry today.

We all know the original Calgary Bronco's from the early 70's folded before playing a single game left Calgary without a professional hockey team. \in fact, they called the Edmonton Oilers the Alberta Oilers for a short time....but that didn't work. Calgary tried again in 1975 with the Calgary Cowboys but again, that team again folded...but it lasted two seasons ....the team moved to Vancouver and became the Vancouver Blazers.

Finally in the 80's, Calgary was able to transfer the Atlanta Flames and the Calgary Flames were born (or relocated).
.....But they kept the Flame...why? :confused_pr:

Tell me Flames fans, what does the flame in your logo stand for? :noidea: How does it represent your city? :dontknow:

Is it because the flames usually burnout early and rarely go further? :flame:

Is it because your team burns its chances (except once) to bring home the cup....? :flame: :D

.....

.....

ahhh, what t'fawk am I squawking about??? ..... my team didn't even make the playoffs ... AGAIN!!!! :tearhairout:

but hey, don't mock our logo! :nono: there is a lot of history and pride of Alberta built into that oil drop.

and us Oiler diehards just keep saying...."wait till next year"....
