Anyone on here into overlanding or truck camping at all?

I'm considering getting out of the ATV scene and building more of an overland truck I can highway drive and then trail drive/camp different places.

So far I'm at the very beginning of research looking into box racks, RTTs, water and tool storage etc. Other main thing would be a dog sleeping and traveling in the box as a we go.

Just looking for ideas, advice or forums/sites to look into if anyone has any.

You could get one of those metrosexual $6000 suv rooftop tents....or just stay chugging beer with the ATV men?

Metrosexual...that’s hilarious. The only guy I know that owns a rooftop tent is definitely not a guy you want to call a Metrosexual...at least I wouldn’t. Lol.

oh fawk around here they're everywhere. Every wannabe offroader has one on his Tacoma with a lightbar and open diffs and starting to see them on mall-mom SUVs too.

I just run a cab height canopy and plywood bed platform in my box with a queen size foamie. Rear of the platform comes out to fit coolers and camping gear. Chairs, axe, drink cooler fits under the platform for extra room. My 3 year old boy and I just did 3 nights out of this setup and had a blast.

We bought an 03 f250 and an 07 westland 90W camper last year. was cheap and we have put that unit to the test, still pulls the boat too.

But... now that we are getting further into it, I am looking at an Adventurer4 or Overlander in the next few years. I think we would use it a ton in the summer and winter too.

Just did this to my truck but went with a higher canopy. It’s awesome for a night or to. Can pull my boat and stop anywhere to sleep. Going to be awesome for hunting early season
