I thought there was an article last year mentioning that they would not change the name. People from the north (NWT) were proud on the fact that they were included in the organization and would continue to work with each other in their promotions.

For the most part, you are probably correct! I was watching the news a few days ago ...the media found someone (I think was inuit) who is against the name. Of course that is who they will promote in the story.

CFL caves to Belair direct Insurance. Belair complains about Edmonton Eskimos name. Count me out ever supporting CFL. Cfl better find new sponsors, out will lose many supporters. I will be one of them. Eskimo fan since 1985.
