I have a small 4 cylinder cars with 80000k on it, for what ever reason i decide to change the spark plugs and find out clubplug.ca has ruthenium plugs. So i pull out the unit where all the caps are, well they half rip off because they are glued to the plugs so i get by with one replacement cap from the dealer.. should have gotten all 4. The old iridium plugs still look new no wear at all. Well 2 months go by and that fuel range thing on my dash now says i can get 850k on a full tank about 75 k more than before, and the power down low seems more snappier. Anyone else try these plugs if so what results have you seen? I am thinking of ordering them for my gas guzzler 6 liter truck.

If anyone else wants to try it, make sure you know the exact range it gets before you change the plugs. My 6 liter truck is too old for a dash range gauge, and it burns so much fuel i would be just guessing if it got better fuel economy.

Plugs are generally snake oil. I would be curious to know how much difference you would have seen just from fresh properly gapped iridiums. Is the car forced induction?

chevy cruz 1.4l turbo, one other factor i changed tires from winter to summer. But i never remember ever seeing over 800k on a tank. I know it has more power down low, but i need someone else to try it.

I'm also not a big believer in spark plug metallurgy. Iridium, platinum, and ruthenium are added to resist erosion and give longer life. But the spark energy is about the same. These rare earth alloys can allow for high energy ignition to be used more reliably though. But on a factory car that's not a factor.

The only thing I can think of with the spark plugs is you went from a resistor to a non resistor plug, that could increase spark energy and burn the fuel faster. But I think there is something else at play, I'd say one of your old plugs was bad even though it looked fine.

with boost and better gapped plugs, you might be getting a stronger tune from the ECM as its probably seeing less knock and adding a bit more timing.

One poor plug on a 4 cylinder is a big difference for sure, but these plugs even looked different than the ones that came out there was kind of a small flat piece that stuck out. Hopefully someone is ready for a plug change and gets back in a couple of months. Have a look at that small tip ...brighter spark??

I ordered 8 for my gmc truck, however i do not drive it often i am not expecting much. Looking forward to your findings on these plugs kingcat162 please take the time give some feedback. Hell my chevy cruze could have had a bad plug since new who knows, but if two people get the same results then my ears are going up.

I was hoping these plugs would cross over from a ngk pfr7ab - but they don't

Ya the pfr7ab or the ngk 1583 is the plug I'm using - I can't find any other plug to run than this one

A snowmobile - I might try them in the wife's ridgeline - it's not turbo - but maybe it'll help it get better mileage
