Im on the hunt for a mini hoe in the 10-12000lbs range and found one that might work but its 1000km away.

Wondering what kind of prices are common for shipping something like that.

The hoe and trailer would put my truck 2500lbs over the max rated combined weight.

$175/hr start to finish

Anyone trying to charge that to haul something that light is insane, that's a 6 axle lowboy rate. A pickup with a trailer isn't worth more then $100/hr. Even cheaper if you can find a truck coming from that rough area.

What do your local rental companies charge for delivering a skidsteer or mini dig?

It's been years but last mini I had delivered was $50 each way and that was a 8 ton machine. Also irrelevant what they charge for delivery. You'll easily find a hotshot company with a trailer willing to transport a mini hoe like that for $100/hr or less.

Call a van trailer company. East Indian types haul that stuff for cheap. As long as there's a way to get it in and out.

Will they have trailer brakes?

Unless prices have come way down it would be hard to find a hotshot to run empty for $100/hr.

Baxter is a good company and wouldn't hesitate to use them. Had them move my rigs many times even if their prices were higher or lower. With them you know what you get.

Last time I paid for a truck was over 2 years ago. It was $180/hr for a 6 axle lowboy and I bet rates have come down.

Hotshot 1 ton pickup runs around $140/hr or $1.40/km. Judging from the calls I just made things haven't changed much. The local rental guy here charges $150/hr. That's a f450 with whatever is on the trailer. As you know having trucks and equipment plus having to pay someone to drive it that crap can't move for free. Guys best bet would be to rent a trailer and get it himself.
