Wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on travelling out of province during this pandemic? We haven’t seen family for a year and also have had a death in the family. We are considering travelling in our RV from BC to Saskatchewan And stopping in Alberta to visit family . What’s the general attitude in Alberta and Saskatchewan towards people you see from other provinces?

What pandemic? I say go and have fun and see family! I think the general public is done with the restrictions and are all for living there lives again.

When I go in to st. Albert there's all sorts of people in RVs at the Walmart from different provinces. I certainly wouldn't worry about it, just go for it

S&M has all the experts.
I would first consult with family you are thinking in visiting and not S&M. Maybe your family members have a different idea then yours on visiting them at the moment.
I speak from experience, the wife wanted to go visit our girls on Vancouver Island this long weekend. She called them and told them she was coming and to her surprise(which did not surprise me) they said NO mom.
That is your first step, if they agree then who gives a "F" if your driving direct.

yes absolutely the sask. family has asked repeatedly for us to come and see them as they are working and it’s our grandsons birthday. We wouldnt consider just showing up somewhere unannounced without prior agreement.

One of the reasons I’m asking is there has been a few topics in Revy regarding WTF are these “ red plates “ doing here when I know some live in town. It has even come to a vehicle being keyed. The disturbing part is nobody even knows what the story is behind the people travelling. We have been very careful with exposure , staying home since FEB. , only going out for necessary items such as groceries and drugstore. It all very disturbing and we are getting antsy to get out and see family.

I would probably avoid using an RV for this trip. Use a car or pickup might be smarter and driving direct.

I it was announced that alberta parks are not taking reservations from out of province. I do not know how far that will spread. Lunds idea may be the best. Do some planning on your overnights stays. Than giver.

Family first, I say go see them.

Since we are on this topic, whats BC doing??? Now that tgings are relaxing, and if the reopening is successful.
Id like to go to vernon in July, and stay at our favorite RV resort, but dont want my equipment damaged if there is still attitudes towards red plates.

Where i live in the Okanagan, Killiney Beach is cottage country for a lot of Albertan's. Its a very small community on lake Okanagan. Half the year it is very quiet here while during summer season it is busy with Albertans staying at their cottages such as my neighbor. This weekend there are lots of Albertans here but everyone is keeping a low profile, I have not seen any boats or toys ripping around like SXS. So people are respecting the locals and understanding the situation, they are out walking their dogs and enjoying the seclusion without attracting unwanted attention with their toys. It appears the locals are welcoming that and I have no problems with it.
That is kinda what you need to do

The RV gives us the opportunity to see family and have our own accommodation without anyone having to put us up. We can socialize outside to maintain everyone’s comfort level. FFS it’s disturbing having to change all habits and everything we are used to!!Damn never thought so many things would have to be considered.

Nothing is open yet for RV's or camping in resorts. Maybe in a week.

Do you need to stay at a camp ground on your way if you stop, you could stay in the r. V at any place, lease site, what ever

Just giver, if west of Canmore did not suck to me now ( lack of mountains) we probably go back more often

I'd be surprised if anyone said anything to you. We still have Americans in their RV's going by on a daily basis headed to Alaska. Yet Trudeau is telling everyone the Canada/US border is closed.
