Heard an interesting release today and I can't find anything on it.

Rebel Media reporting that planes from China are landing in Vancouver carrying workers who are putting up G5 towers in western Canada. Can anybody find anything out on this?

For what it is worth, whether "fake news" or whatever, this was posted in the St. Albert Gazette as it says on March 18th. I haven't found anything anywhere to substantiate the information, so as I said, "take it however you want" and maybe get a conversation going. I searched the archives of the Gazette and did not find the article. Has the archive been wiped clean?? Who knows? The picture is terrible but what you see, is what you get.

Ezra was great for years. Loved him putting people’s feet to the fire

Rebel has gotten a bit out of hand sometimes lately, not always must-see like it used to be
Agreed, I really liked him with the Sun and when the Rebel first started but now it seems to offer a lot of over sensationalism and clickbait for ad revenue.

I feel the same way...I have contributed financially a couple of times, for them to defend causes I felt were worthy, but recently I've felt it getting a little to over the top.

I donate some as well. When I see Ezra have to defend his book release called the Librano's to 2 Nazi type RCMP officers sent by our illustrious leader my blood starts to boil. The Rebel is over the top sometimes but they still expose a lot of chit that MSM has no interest in searching out.

MSM is pathetic. They just read the press releases handed to them by the lieberals instead of actually doing some investigative journalism.

As someone that is in the industry and has a pretty good finger on the heartbeat I find this all comical.

Not many Telcos are actually installing 5G yet, there is a handful of sites in AB that have had it installed. They are preparing for it. Until the feds give the full green light for Huawei to participate in 5G we won't see a ton of sites that are 5G capable. Not all Telcos are using Huawei either. One has cut all ties with them. My guys would know if there was truckloads of Chinese riggers coming into the province to work on cell towers lol.

I as well used to appreciate Ezra's "investigative" journalism but I believe he has gone way over the top and is so entrenched in his far right beliefs that facts are no longer required to publish a piece. Even if there is a legitimate story line there it is tainted as soon as it is touched by Ezra and the Rebel. Rick Mercer is a CBC guy and he has unwavering respect for Ezra & work he does or did.

I find it hard to believe that the MSM is cloaked in wide spread conspiracy. Yes there are for sure bias's at play from the programing level and up through management but people do not go to journalism school to willingly buy into a wide spread conspiracy.

I do believe that in the US the higher profile media figures - Anderson Cooper, Wolf Blitzer and the elites ( Anderson Cooper is a Vanderbilt) and most of their correspondents and executive are deeply entrenched in the US political system so it is easier for them to manipulate their audience - watching the election coverage was awesome, their true colors were made very clear.

If there were some grand conspiracy there are 1000's of journalists, freelance writers and disgruntled ex-employees who would love nothing more than to break that open, it's one thing to "tow the company line" and quite another to turn your back on all the morals, values and beliefs that drew one to the profession in the first place.

Human nature dictates that most folks look to surround themselves with people of similar opinions and beliefs so it only makes sense that the more left leaning journalism graduates will gravitate towards the CBC and CTV while right leaning graduates will gravitate towards the National post, Rebel and Sun outlets - I find Global/CHED/Chorus to be very centrist and would find it very hard to believe that personalities like Bob Layton, Roy Green, Charles Adler, DreX and others would roll over on personal values and beliefs to satisfy the corporate agenda.

More on this - Why do you think that many of us on here can't figure out how Trudope got in to begin with let lone managed to secure a second term? Because most of the people you, I and most folks on here speak with and discuss world event's or politics with hold the same general opinion. When a "libtard" starts to speak no one hears them out, we tell them to STFU & GTFO - friggin socialists, communists, natzi's. Yet the little turd in Ottawa obviously has enough supporters or rather anti-Conservatives voting for him to get back in.... And when a Centrist conservative tries to explain there point of view to one of left leaning beliefes, they won't hear them out they tell them to STFU & GTFO - Greedy Capitalist scum, Cold hearted, unfeeling cog in the corporate wheel. Most folks on this site, myself included, lead a very good (many would consider privileged) life. Many of us have too many summer toys, just as many winter toys, live in nice houses and travel where/when we want too. For the most part we are the 5% if not the 1% that others cry out about.

Back to the media - Maybe I am one of the "sheep" but I find it very hard to believe that most if any of these media conspiracy theories are founded - In Canada anyway and even in the US, Independent journalism does a good job of exposing the gross bias portrayed by CNN/FOX/MSNBC ect. Much like a lot of these conspiracies I find it very difficult to believe that anything of that magnitude could remain covered up indefinitely.

Name some independent journalists. There aren’t any. There’s a reason that the only group the public trusts LESS than politicians is the media. If you don’t toe the line as a journalist you don’t get published or paid. There’s the odd flyer like Rex Murphy that get to speak their mind, but they’re rare.
