I tried the stock market this last year, bought in on ten stocks this last may, never did much research or due diligence on four of the them, went with referrals..

now with six months in the market, it’s not been so rosy on most, breaking even to up 20 percent, one down 10 percent..

not sure how stock guys make money, maybe lots of inside trading and such, but it’s not been a big payout for myself..

did have one I got in a few years back that I was able to get some decent Warrants from and sold doubling money.. but then you just buy more after..

maybe good news to come with new administration and covid under control, so many things that indicate market control

Soooo lucky I'm not a trader by occupation, I'd be broke.

Been bullish on Solar Aliance Energy for quite some time now, picked up 40K shares a while back @ $0.035.
January 5th they announced a signed agreement for a $60M US solar project and Boom jumped up to $0.30 but didn't hold, over the next week it dropped back as low as $0.21. Today it opened at $0.25 and by 11am was back to $0.30 so rather than watch it go back down I put in a sell order.
After bouncing around 27/28 cents for a few hours it bumped and my order filled - nice 10K profit but just as ALWAYS within 20 min she hit $0.35 - $2K left on the table - wow $0.385 now so I guess about $5k FML...

I'm gonna start giving everyone a heads up before I sell anything

I'm guessing it will come back down and I'll get back in was hoping for a $0.25 entry but that may not happen now.

You did well sir !!
Most only chirp about winnings and not all the loses . Lol Like gambling which it is .
Only time you are up is when you have bought , sold and it’s back in account with a plus . Until then it’s all in the markets hands and can be manipulated.
Good job

Oh I've got lots of skunks too... some will likely never come back. I really think Solar Alliance has a future and was trying to swing trade as I didn't have much to lose. Just not sure if I'll get the entry point I was hoping for.

I’d be really careful about putting anything into the market right now....it’s good to hear the success stories for sure but notice nobody ever comes on and tells how much they lost.....historically democratic administrations have been at best neutral towards business. With the pressures Biden is gonna face from the far left, all of the deregulation and pro-business initiatives that trump instituted will be revoked and replaced with more regulations and tax increases that will have a detrimental effect on the market. If you’re not in the market now, I’d wait a few months and see what happens.

Most major stocks have done well since March but between Jan & March last year lots of value was lost. I carry a mix of Tech, O&G, renewable energy and pot. My portfolio bottomed out in March at about $28K down from $40K, today I'm sitting at about $46K (could have been 50 if I timed SUN better :( ) Apple has been good to me I'm up about 235% lots of others (Pinical, Capital Power, Dyncert & Trican) are around the 35% mark but I'm also holding some Pot & agritech that are down 80-90% and of those 15 stocks I'm betting only 5 pan out in the long run. Some of them I'm down over $2k

Tinley is a THC & CBD extract and beverage company that I've made money on in the past and still hold because I think they will do well.
Nextec ARSolutions is one I got from a merger @ $0.30 and is now over $5 - 1700% return, unfortunately I only took what I was given and opted not to purchase additional so that 1700% only equates to about $1200 profit.

Even if I had more time to research I'm not sure I'd be any better because in a lot of cases it really is nothing more than gambling

Just gotta figure out which companies are "friends of the administration" There is always money to be made just like there is always money to be lost. But your right, I've been contemplating selling everything (except my garbage) and locking in some profit incase there is a "reset"

I havent sold anything in years(except sleds and trucks at big losses lol).

I'm going with the strategy of buy everything and keep it forever.

I'll let you know how it works out for me.

Talking about losses...
I was just talking with a buddy the other day that said he had about 100k into Bre-x back in the day.

I'm sure you know how that turned out for him.

Can't complain about a nice profit, no one can time it perfectly.

That's a nice return, i'm really thinking I should give this whole stock thing a try even with $10k and see what happens.

I initially went in with about $11k 4 years ago knowing that if I lost my $11k it would suck but would not matter in the grand scheme of things..... My direct investment accounts are play money, but even losing play money sucks. In 4 years I've been as high as $78k and as low as 27 or 28K. all in all not bad with an $11k investment but I made more money in my first year than I have since in the 2017/2018 "green rush" pot market.

Lots of folks lost everything on that one..... lots of folks jumping from buildings and helicopters.

The fraudulent gold estimates that provoked the valuation of Bre-X were completed by Kilborn Engineering, a division of SNC-Lavalin. Funny how often that name pops up when something shady happens...

I know I shouldn't do this to myself, it's like continuing to look at sleds or cars fr sale after you've purchased but that SOLR stock I sold yesterday @ $0.30 is now trading at $0.56..... FML over $10K left on the table.

Hi Bogger a tip for you that I have done lots of in the past when buying stocks. When you see it go up like this and you want to pull out just sell off what you initially invested then you are still in the game a bit on that stock. Just a thought.

Works well for other people I know as well. Secure your initial investment and let the rest play out.
