Glad I'm not back on the Avalon today having to dig out from yesterday's storm. Crazy snowfall.
Cold weather and little snow to shovel doesn't seem so bad now.
Pic a side by side comparison of a section of highway in St John's, NL.
Best of luck to family and friends digging out back home.

Ya I dunno, it’s two different things. -41......windchill in the 50s?? You can hear a car 5 miles away and it sounds so close like it’s going to run you over? Your car doors don’t latch, car seat feels like plywood, doesn’t start, feel flat spots on your tires for 2 miles.....this is all before you even getting to work to deal with the next set of problems.

This cold is pretty ****ty. Literally. My septic mound is now frozen and won’t pump out my tanks. Had to put a temp surface discharge of my septic pump. Literally have **** spraying in my back yard now. I have lived here for 10 years and never had this happen before.

Lord tunderin' that looks crazy!

Finally got some snow here, 9" of the stuff. Got the ATV out and plowed 4 neighbours driveways and the boulevard so my buddies got somewhere to park.

There is a video on utube showing a 24 hr time lapse of the snow accumulation in front of someone’s house.

It’s pretty cool....gonna get a lot of hits.

Problem is that in the city there is nowhere to push the snow ...major amount of removal required ...problem is not snow on the roofs but whats on the roads ...
With the amount of wind the snow is compacted ...not light and fluffy ...5' in driveway and needed the farmers JD with blower to remove it ...blade on 3/4 ton couldn't do anything anything with it

If your mounds are freezing off the installer didn’t construct them with enough cover .
With low snow and cold temps I would put a insulated tarp over them .
In 23 years mine has only froze off one year and that was in March as no snow that winter and cold temps .
Might want to add some more topsoil to help insulate?
No sled, quad , animal tracks over the areas as that will drive frost in as well .

My cousin in St.John's had to climb out his kitchen window to clear the front door that was drifted in over the roof. He has a small 8' wide driveway about 40' long, said it took him 6 hours with his new heavy duty snow blower. Now he has a clear driveway but the road is under 4' of snow. I'm SOOOOOO jealous! What I would give for a HUGE dump of snow right now and be done with this -40 nonsense. It's time to ride!
