Picked up a 13 pro this summer, sled has a bout 3k Miles now I took it for a short ‘trial ride’ this weekend and had some wikid thumb ‘pump’ going on.

I was just putting my tunnel bag on it in the garage and decided to do some ‘garage braaps’ (Sled off obv lol). The throttle flaps back fast not like its binding or anything but still gave my thumb muscle the ‘pump’

I had a 14 pro rmk two years ago and did not remember the flapper being like this, so I’m thinking either my cable needs to be lubed or my 2.5 years being a keyboard jockey has severely weakened my thumb lol

What do you guys think? Should I replace the cable? Or perhaps go with a Munster finger and flip it for my thumb? My hands are not very large

Check that someone did not over tighten the block. If so the piece that slides in may have popped apart partially. Those factory flippers are POS and have resulted in runaway sleds.

the po has the block loose so it can be moved, depending on standing or sitting riding on the trail I suppose

I suppose I could just take it all apart and see what’s going on in there though

I say go for the finger throttle and use it as a finger throttle ( don't flip it around ) once you get the hang of it you won't be able to ride with out it. If you have ever ridden dirt bikes it will only take a couple hours or so be really comfortable with it.

I called the local poo dealer. They won’t be able to get the finger throttle in till next week. So I purchased a cable attachment deal from them. Parts dude said I could use brake clean as lube....would that work? I read wd can cause icing, I would assume that moovit would as well?

He suggested I trace my throttle cable and see if there’s anywhere it’s binding as well. I will do that tonight/tmo

Munster finger all the way, love mine.

Ask my neighbour how he likes the Munster finger throttle. It was freezing up on him. He was playing around with it and thought he had it. Seemed like it was unstuck. Started the sled and all was good. Gave it a bit of throttle and it stuck and started to take off. Leaned over to grab the brake, but ended up grabbing more throttle in the excitement. It took off spinning and grabbed his foot on the way by, twisted his leg so bad it broke his fiba and tore all the tendons in his foot/ankle. No sledding for him this year.

I flipped my finger throttle around after not being able to use it as a "finger throttle" and use it as a thumb throttle now. I find the angle of the pull easier on my thumb than the OEM Polaris lever now,.. the heater is a little weak but it doesn't bother me,.. and I don't have an issue with it sticking, just make sure it clean of snow.

When I installed my finger throttle or even just adjusting a throttle for that matter, I always hook up my tether. My polaris stock throttle used to get iced up all the time

This was a Munster finger throttle but don’t think it was at fault. Probably would have happen with the stock one. The Goldfinger left handed throttle was a death trap. My wife had it. It was always froze.

I've seen the same thing happen with a thumb throttle as well, froze open sled was fired up in the yard at my uncles place who lives on the highway and the sled took off and cleared the highway missing vehicles and crashed into the neighbours fence across the highway, the neighbour was a hippy and was sure my uncle was trying to take her out lol.
