So are we catching up to the mountain pine beetle ?
Cut what they killed, yes. They continue and are moving into Alberta. Bugs are still around but food supply has diminished. Other bugs and tree diseases are attacking healthy forests. It’s just a big garden so just like the one in your back yard it needs to be tended to and kept at bay. Can’t let it run wild o run the fruit spoils. So are we catching up to the mountain pine beetle ?
The beetle has mostly devastated it's food supply in BC and that has caused numbers to decline and the ones that remain are moving east into Alberta. I think getting close to Edmonton now. Spruce beetle is getting out of control and that is the new target but not on the scale of the mtn pine beetle. Fir beetle continues to do its thing as well but in much much smaller numbers and easier to control. So are we catching up to the mountain pine beetle ?
