I'm thinking the employee's might get paid from the TV show too?
I would love to know the pay set up on the employees. Do they run payroll once a month or what. Or do they each get a percentage of gold at the end of the season. Tough call. A guy could work all season on ****ty ground and make nothing.

I PVR all the episodes.

I PVR almost all of my favourite shows, I can buzz right through the endless commercials, and man does Discovery have a LOT of commercials.

Except live sports all my watching comes from the PVR. Even if something pops up I wanna watch when I'm scrolling, I'll record it and go back and watch it later and fly past all the endless repetitive commercials.

Its the only way to watch boobs on the tube these days.

fixed it for you

Parker's outfit pays hourly, Rick Ness himself told me that himself in conversation a few years back. he said many guys would come from Alberta looking for a job running equipment and turn around and leave when they were told what they were paying per hour.

finally got to watch Tuesday's episode last night on the PVR, Mikey Beets driving the Oshkosh into the weeds on a straight stretch of road was comical, almost made up for drama? anyways, dick move making the other guy haul the big Volvo on his 40 ton bed while they took the smaller one with their own truck.

I was hoping there would be a showdown over the agreement Tony wrote up, but he must have known Parker was gonna tell him to get F'd

I briefly entertained the idea of going up to a mine in the Yukon a few years back as a HD mechanic. I found out what the pay was I dropped the idea. It was the same rate as in town here. Really no point in working in the middle of nowhere if I can sleep in my own bed every night and make the same money. Maybe things have changed since then

I don't know, I hope he does well in Keno. but the show thrives on drama, if everyone does good it doesn't make for good TV.

I'd really like to hear the reason all these water leases are being cancelled or not renewed. is it the gov't? or just more manufactured drama? Tony Beets didn't just start mining in the Yukon last week, it's not like he doesn't know how it all works.

Exactly. They also don’t show a lot of reclamation on the show. This day in age it might be a good thing. Who knows.

I really liked that Yukon Gold show, not sure why it got the axe. Ken Foy got nailed with a couple hundred thousand in fines for not doing proper reclaimation, he pretty much went broke and hasn't been back to the Yukon.

The pay must be in the bonuses. Remember last year when Rick went to Parker for his bonus wasn't it like $60k?

you think maybe the government watched the show and saw some of the stupid stuff they did around the water and to the land? Just like Ice Road Truckers, to much stupid stuff televised and DOT was all over them, basically were told they were not welcome on the Dalton.

I did read that Tony Beets was charged for a stunt they pulled by pouring gasoline on the dredge pond and lighting it, along with a few other violations of his water lease. some kind of Viking ceremony they called it. Yukon gov't was not amused. https://www.yukon-news.com/news/gold-rush-star-tony-beets-appeals-pond-fire-fines/

IRT was booted from the Territories for the same thing after the first season aired.

the agreement included Parker would be liable for Tony's mess and his camp. That's why Parker crumpled the agreement up and threw it into the trash can
Thanks.
Had to re watch on pvr.
Near the front. Yup.
Pee break time.
I could not beleive now that Tony tried to pull an agreement like that.
But I do beleive there is an agreement because Tony is still mining and the water rights he is using is Parkers.

So here is the deal. You pull my skis and I will pull yours.
We are going to get discovery to come film our anticts and we will get payed something

Depending I supposed, my buddy was on day rate plus what he was getting from discovery per episode, said day rate was decent but once you factored the fact you typically worked 16-18 hr days the discovery pay cheque is what made it sweet plus the gold bonus at the end of the season. Its camp work, wether you live in your own camper or the atco shack they provide, food and beverage was supplied.
