First portion of driveway I did was $13 sq ft 15 years ago .
Did some more 6 years ago and it was $18 .
That’s with very little prep work as it was very hard and no soft spots .
Base work is the most important part .
This is in Grande Prairie though .

Sounds expensive, wouldnt it be better and cheaper to pour concrete? Always thought asphalt was a lot cheaper. Also I haven't seen to many asphalt driveways hold up over the years. Always seem to look like **** and have deep pot holes that require patching.
Poured quite a bit of concrete and was able to do it under 10 per sqft in the last year .

Concrete is a better option for sure now a days in some places unless prices have come down.
I am on acreage and the pavement definitely needs maintenance every three years with a good sealing .
Mine is 15 years old and still great shape but had excellent base .

Where you located? Does the area already have a good base?
If you are handy, have access to equipment (if needed) then cement can be a cheaper option. A huge cost for cement is the prep work; so if you can skirt the area you want done, lay the rebar,... and just have someone come and place/finish the cement you can save a fair amount.

I have a driveway to do, 6” pour is $8 a square all in, asphalt is about 1/2 that but only 4”. Big thing with asphalt is you can’t have lots of corners / notches.
Ohhh to have a paving co in GP!!!

I would be surprised if you got much more then 2" of asphalt put in for a driveway, unless you specifically requested 4". Also, not sure what you mean by "can't have lots of corners/notches"?
