oh, so its a loose nut behind the steering wheel that makes the truck swerve all over the road.

here i though it was caused by the ram driving DB's behind the wheel

Part of its semis are outside almost all the time, less chance of condensation getting into the air system. Another could be that Fiat is using lower quality materials. The trucking industry’s been doing this for decades, light duty had some catching up to do.

Do the Rams use N2 like Jeep does?

Not true actually. The pressurizing of the system creates a Heating and cooling process by the air compressor and it creates moisture. If the systems air dryer is working properly it will help prevent moisture and freezing in the rest of the air system.

But the thing is, they can copy the way it's done on semis and merely use smaller parts, that's my point. There should be virtually no learning curve for them to do it. While mine are always outside, I have never once had a single issue with the air suspension in the winter.

I’ve seen tons of air system issues in winter, but with an open system that you can add airbrake antifreeze and have a good, well maintained air dryer, you shouldn’t have problems very often.

Another thing, how many owners of air equipped light duty vehicles know how to maintain an air system? My guess is not many!

I'd be willing to bet most of them have problems due to not draining tanks everyday. I am blown away that most people don't bother. Probably a big reason why i've never had an issue. Both tanks drained every single day, summer or winter.

Buddies eco diesel air suspension packed it in yesterday in the cold weather. Compressor cracked and blows the fuse. Dealer told him they are changing out on an average 4 a day. Good for 2-3 years then bam! Low rider!

The 2 Ram 1500's I had, the dealer told me to stay away from it. I don't keep my trucks very long, but he said I've got to resell them and I don't need the next guy pissy with me when he has to shell out a few grand for something you don't need in the first place.

i always worry, that if i'm pulling the sleds to the mountains with a trailer on, and the temp dips to -20*c or colder, what would happen if it sits overnite with the trailer on.... Would it work in the morning??? That was my only worry, ever

Ya me to, my dads 2015 3500 air ride failed while towing his car hauler in summer to a car show and my buddy’s 2016 1500 air ride failed middle of winter pulling a 3 place enclosed, both said it was not a fun experience
